Makeover

Like my new look? I got bored. This seems, oh, I don't know - - a little more *loud* looking.

And the color just says summer.

Okay, I have a kitchen is desperate need of attention. Luckily I have an mp3 player freshly loaded with some awesome playlists. Normally I don't look forward to chores. But I think I'm going to make an exception.

Oh yeah, and either tonight or in the morning, I'll post about my adventure at the laundromat on Sunday. (Stupid washer is still in the shop.)

Peace.

I really am brilliant.

I finally figured out how to add to my playlists on my mp3 player. Remember the drama a few months ago? Husband, in his attempt to "upgrade me" got me all messed up. I was determined to figure it out. Yes. I did. And now I am play-listing this thing to death. 4GB is going to be gone for sure. (That's a ton of music.) Music added so far - soundtracks. Backdraft, Lonesome Dove and The Sound of Music's 40th Anniversary Edition. And a Disney playlist for the inner child in me. Oh yeah.

So maybe that IQ test I took in the middle of the night last night is not really far from off after all. Here's the scary thing - - I'd already had my Ambien. So - am I only smarter after being doped up? I was altered. Does that not count? I *do* know that I didn't cheat. I also know that it wasn't real scientific either. It sure made me feel pretty dang good about myself though. Who wouldn't want to think their IQ is high? I wonder what mine would test out as in a real test? Still high. I know. I'm brilliant.

IQ Test - That's right, I'm brilliant.

Have you ever...

...sold your soul to a friend? I did. And I owe Yoda big time. I mean BIG TIME. She saved me. I didn't even have to ask her to save me. She picked up that I might be drowning in my own procrastination. Only she didn't just throw me the life preserver. She swam out to me with it. And we had so much fun hanging out. I really, really like her. She put off something she needed to do to bail me out. That's not why I like her. I like her because she's authentic. No - - I love her. She is a true friend. I have very few of those and she is one of them. I have lots of surface friends. But inner circle friends - - that's totally different. And she's one of them. So Yoda, thanks for the life line. In more ways than one. I'm most grateful for the life line you've given me in the form of friendship. You rock.

Western Conference Champions

Go Spurs Go.

I'm just sayin.

P.S. Hey Kobe, you headline stealing attention monger: I hope L.A. releases you from your contract and nobody picks you up. You are a disgrace to TEAM sports. (BTW, he is a notch above Mark Cuban in my book on my "hatin' scale." At least Mr. Cuban values team work. Now if Cuban says that he would snatch up Kobe, Heaven help us all. And aside from his new football idea, I think he's a pretty savvy business man. He is a multi-millionaire.) I think you should go hang out in exile with Rosie. You crazy man with an over-inflated ego. Stupid Lakers. You guys are stupid if you keep him. Unless you have to. Okay, I'm done now.

Blog This - May 28th

How observant are you? Are you noticing that it isn't May 28th? Do you see that it is, indeed, May 29th? Why did I think that I had a whole other day to post my weekly "blog this?" Maybe because today has been Saturday all day and tomorrow I think I need to get up and go to church. So actually, in my messed up-holiday-weekend-mind, I should think I have two more days to post this. And really I wouldn't need to get up and go to church "tomorrow" because it is already "tomorrow" because it's 1:39 in the morning. So technically, it is tomorrow already. Did anyone follow that? Never mind. It makes sense to me.

Okay, blog this. Procrastination. How has it bit you in the rump? Do you procrastinate? Do you thrive under procrastination? Here's the irony - - I must procrastinate and "blog this" later. It's late and I'm tired. The reason I'm up so late and tired is because of procrastination. Therefore, I must procrastinate some more and post my own blog entry on procrastination later. I should stop now. I'm sounding like a complete and total moron.

Do a blog about procrastination this week. I promise I will. Later.

I love this series!

Go Spurs Go!

Can my boys beat Utah at home? Utah hasn't lost an at home game post season yet. Yikes.

Watch Out, Husband!

I've found a new love! I'm a little late joining the Michael Buble ride. But I've hopped on board. And I'm so in love. He makes me swoon. Oh.... listen to him sing this song. It's already one of my faves. He *so* sings it better. I love his stuff.

(Me swooning.)

Check him out.

Buh-bye Rosie!

Ding-dong the witch is gone.

Hasta la vista, Baby.

I might actually start watching episodes of The View now.

Live Out Loud

Have I mentioned yet that this is my new mantra? It's not really new. But the extent to which I'm following my own advice is growing a little more every day.

This has been an unbelievable day. An emotional one. On many levels. Life changing events in several families lives.

First - - pray for Ami. She suffered a terrible loss today. Just terrible. Her strength astounds me. Pray that God continues to carry her through the days to come. My heart breaks for her and her family.

Second, for a special friend of mine. A while back, she had a major life-altering event. And God has really worked through it. It has made her and her husband both stronger because of it. Both individually and as a couple. *Her* strength and faith in God just AMAZE me. What an inspiration. And her words were just what I needed to hear tonight. God's timing. Yeah - Wow.

Third, another special friend. Moving away. The unknown. That would scare me to death. I know she's scared. But she's (and I keep using this word) just amazing.

Finally, another really good friend of mine. Wow. For some reason she struggles to find value in herself. I wish she could see all of the beautiful things I see in her. But more importantly, all of the beautiful things that God sees in her. She is one of the most amazing people I know. She'd do anything for anyone. The sad thing is, it makes her vulnerable. Vulnerable to "friends" taking advantage of her. Just anyone. I want her to find that confident, beautiful, amazing woman inside her. I want to see her walk with her head held high and hear her speak with conviction. It doesn't matter what the outside looks like. She's her worst judge. So critical of herself. The truth is, I think her heart spills out to her outside and makes her that much more beautiful. Dang it - why can't she see that?

As women, we so often struggle with loving ourselves. Why? What can this be attributed to?

So, live out loud. This is what I originally meant by that - - no more crap. I'm only 36. But I'm done with the crap. The older I get, the less tolerable of it I get. You don't like me? That's your problem, not mine. You don't like my tone on the blog? Don't read it. Did I hurt your feelings? Call me on the carpet for it. Were you wearing them on your sleeve? Don't be offended if I call *you* on the carpet for that.

I'm *so* done with junior high games. Life is too short and too fragile. Don't get me wrong. I'm not going to go around hating or trying to be mean. Sometimes I fly off the handle and it comes out mean. This is not a license to be a jerk. It is, however, notice. That I will be me. And I'm not going to skirt around issues with anyone. If you have an issue with me, bring it up. The silent game is dumb. No more merry go rounds. I'm living out loud. And I'm proud of that.

I'm me. I'm loud. I'm sometimes obnoxious. I'm *not* perfect.

My friends. I love them. And they could use some serious prayers right now. Amazing, strong women. All of them at different places in their lives. Will you do that for me? Will you pray for my friends?

To my blog fans - I have one last thing for you...

Live. Out. Loud.

My Day

I've cleaned spaghettio's off of the wall. And poop off of the floor. Twice.

I'm about to take a shower and then go to Wal-Mart and get groceries. I am *not* putting make up on. I swear - - if this is the time that I finally run into Matthew McConaughey, I'm going to die. (Cause I know it's the lack of make up that will hold him back.)

Sigh.

All caught up...

...on television. Maybe now I can get some other things done.

CSI - Wow. I have to wait until September to find out what happens to the Miniature Killer's latest victim? (Notice I didn't spoil it for those of you that haven't watched it yet?) And that scene with Grissom and his team? I bet they were all going "Huh?" once he left the room! And Poncho looked especially hot. But he didn't get enough of the storyline tonight.

ER - Oh. My. Gosh. I did not see that coming with Ray. That broke my heart. Poor Neela. One thing I'm not digging - - the entertainment industry's anti-war stance. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I just don't like politics in my television programming. Either view. Unless it's on SNL and both views are equally being made fun of. I think I better get used to it. Really sad episode though. And I have to say - - I *love* the new Chief of the E.R. (Insert evil laugh here.)

Spurs Basketball - Did anyone watch the game Wednesday night? Holy cow! The Spurs pulled that one off at the last minute. Whew. And those Suns fans? They didn't just boo the Spurs at the intro. The booed them on EVERY one of their possessions. Every one of them. For the whole stinking game. Uncool in my book. But this comes from someone who has NEVER booed anyone or anything at any sports event. Ever. I think it's tacky. And now I'm sure it will happen in San Antonio tomorrow night. Again - - uncool. Show some class people. I just don't like this being so ugly. Just play some stinking basketball!!!!!! Here's to Game 6. The Spurs can advance to Round 3 in this one. Go Spurs Go!!

That's all. I'm having my geriatric fits again with my hip. The doc said he could see me at 1:30 tomorrow. It looks like I'll be getting another injection. It stinks to get old. I'm going to need a scooter before I'm 50.

I'm tired. I think I'll retire for the evening. Everyone is in bed. I should be there, too. I think I'm going to get a jump start on the morning's activities with the kids and pour their juice cups and stick them in the fridge. I think it's good to be armed and ready to greet the day.

Peace.

Wednesday, May 16

Hi

Go, Spurs, Go!

Game 5 is tonight. It's in Phoenix so it will be a late game. I fully expect the Spurs to get booed by the Phoenix fans. Big time. Probably like the Spurs fans will boo Stoudemire in San Antonio on Friday. I say let that crap go and play some basketball. Two incredible teams. I just want to see some good ball.

Husband and I are all caught up on CSI now. We stayed up late last night to catch up. Interesting, to say the least. And I'm still totally digging Poncho. (Nick Stokes.) Don't be jealous, Bobby. I'm sure Angie likes you first. But I guarantee she thinks Poncho is a hottie.

Okay, household duties beckon.

Peace.

The Power of the Dark Side

I think my brother is using the Jedi mind trick on me. He is like Darth Vadar. Deep down, he is a good Jedi. But on the surface, he is evil. He is using his powers on me. His Jedi mind tricks work. I have begun to move to the Dark Side. I think I am beginning to not like cats. I don't hate them, like he does. Not yet. But if Wheezer continues her current trek of urinary freedom, not even Luke Skywalker (Husband) can save her.

Once again, she peed on my kind heart. In a moment of weakness, I agreed that she should be kept indoors while we were out of town this past weekend. Husband even provided her with a fresh litter box. Apparently it was not to her liking. The rug on the floor of the laundry room was much more appealing. Ironically, it was the rug from the bathroom that was in there to be laundered because of a previous incident. It may have been a weak moment on my part because of the storms last week. (Wheezer and I have one thing in common. Fear of storms. I sometimes take pity on her.)

Here's the current situation. C went to the allergist today. They drew blood to test him for allergies. (By the way, he handled that better than any adult I've ever seen. Five him next time you see him.) The doctor said that if C is allergic to cats - they need to go. No more inside pets. I almost found myself giddy with excitement. He said we'd talk about all of the environmental treatment options when we go back for the results in three weeks. Honestly, I think C suffers from seasonal allergies. Not cats. Could be. Who knows? We will. In three weeks. I also hope the doc tells us to get rid of our carpet. Wouldn't that be cool? But back to the cats. The sad thing is Ally. I still half-way like her. I just wish Wheezer hadn't taught her that pet-aggression-bite thing she does. Hate that.

Husband *loves* both of our cats. He will really be sad if Ally is booted outside at night, too. She sleeps on his legs every night. I hope for him, but secretly hope for me, too. I guess the ball is the the "blood test's" court now.

I really used to love cats. I mean really love them. It's all your fault, Wheezer. You wretched furball.

Ugliness in the NBA

I would be totally remiss if I didn't bring any of this up...

Let me start at the beginning.

No - I did not get to go to Game 3. Yes - I am still bitter about it. I secretly hoped Husband would surprise me with tickets at the last minute. Maybe a real sweet Mother's Day gift. No such luck. So when he suggested that I go into San Antonio on Saturday afternoon and check out a scrapbook store I'd heard about, I had an idea. (By the way, my in-laws live about 30 minutes on the other side of San Antonio.) Back to my idea. Find a Sugar Daddy. Bat my eyes at him. Get him to take me to the game. Maybe he'd even spring for some Spurs memorabilia. Maybe he'd even have some connections and I'd get to meet a player or two.

The flaws in my plan:
  • Sugar Daddies rarely hang out in Scrapbook stores (If they do, they are probably already taken and I'd risk a serious cat fight.)
  • SD's probably don't shop at Kohl's either.
  • I clearly had on a wedding ring. (This is probably a major turn off to SD's.)
  • I waited too late.

Oh well. They won the game I wanted to go to. I'm not even going to ask Husband if he's going to take me to Game 6. Yes, it's in San Antonio. We are having company over that night. I hope they are ready to watch some basketball.

Now - - on to some of the ugliness. Robert Horry. Dude, what were you thinking? You are a seasoned veteran and one of my favorite players. I always thought you were so level headed. I can't help but wonder what his intentions were. His real intentions. I know he meant to foul Nash. But did he mean to slam him into the table like that? I'd like to think he didn't. Did that foul get away from him or did his temper get the better of him? Either way, I think his two game suspension was appropriate. It sends the right message.

And the same goes for that liar Stoudemire. Yes, I said liar. (I'm about to repeat that a lot.) I guess I'd say I didn't mean to do it either. He claims he was just leaving the bench, on his coach's orders, to go check in the game. Yeah, no. Let me repeat. Liar. You were headed for a bench-clearing brawl. And the rule's are the rules. Suspension for you. Liar. If I were on the NBA Commission, I'd give you another game's suspension just for being a big fat liar. View the footage, liar. You do know they taped the game, right? Liar.

Oh yeah, his little buddy Diaw was suspended one game for following behind him to go "check in the game."

I don't like this dark cloud looming over the Spurs. I don't want one ugly incident to label them as a dirty team. For the record - Bowen is not a dirty player. I don't care what that Liar said. Again - watch the footage, Liar.

On a happy note, with hat in hand and groveling for Yoda. Kudos to Dirk. MVP. We knew it was coming. And he deserved it. And this part is hard for me to admit - - but Mr. Cuban's kind words at the presentation were, well, well-said. He even got choked up a few times. So Yoda, maybe you are right. Behind that mean, rigid exterior there really exists a nice guy. Is there really a nice beating heart inside there? It's not all cold and dead? Okay, I'm about to puke. I'm done being nice to Mr. Cuban. Congrats, Dirk.

Anyone still with me? Are you wowed or disgusted by the length to which I follow NBA stuff? Yes, I am a girl. So how is it that Husband isn't so much more in love with me for that? Shouldn't good wife behavior be rewarded by, oh I don't know, a ticket to a playoff game in San Antonio? I'm just sayin...

Blog This - May 14th

If you could leave for a "mini-vacation" early Thursday morning and come home late Sunday night, where would you go? And I'm feeling generous. Give me your top three. That's what I'm doing.

I hate to sound like an ungrateful mother. But this is going to sound that way. Husband and I haven't really had any quality time together since our cruise back in 2001. That was a long time ago. If I'd only known then... I am beyond thankful for my boys. Given the struggles we went through to get them here, I'd say they are both real miracles. So don't label me as one of those "just want to get away from her kids" kind of moms. I would just like a romantic weekend with my husband. It's hard to be romantic when you are wiping poop off of a toddler's bottom. I'm just sayin...

So, here are my top three ideas for a "quickie" weekend.

1. St. Lucia - some resort that's all inclusive. It would be really sweet if our resort had one of those infinity pools. I've always wanted to stay at a place with one of those. It would be even sweeter if it was a private pool. You know - - since we're dreaming.

2. New York - in the fall. I want to see NYC in the fall. And Husband has been there, so he could really show me around. And I'd *totally* love to catch Grease on Broadway. Wow. Plus, seeing Central Park, Times Square, all that stuff. Never have. It would just be cool.

3. Spa Trip - I don't know where this would be. Arizona? Isn't that what they're known for out there? We could do the couples massage thing, relax, have nice gourmet dinners, wear big white robes... I can smell the "spa smell" now.

Okay, I'm ready. Maybe we can do all three. That sounds fabulous. Will someone tell Husband for me? I'd be putty in his hands. He'd pick the St. Lucia trip. And we'd have a blast.

Where do you fantasize about going? Blog This!

Guess what tomorrow is...

That's right. It's TV Thursday. And guess who my new crush is...

It's this guy... Nick Stokes from CSI. For those that know me, I'm not one for long flowing hair on men. I'm all about the shorter hair. And I think this "do" does him up right. Man, he's purty.

Husband and I were behind on CSI. They are DVR'd for two weeks back. I informed him that we *had* to take a basketball hiatus tonight and watch at least one of the episodes. We did. And I must say, I'm glad we did. Yummy. Plus it was a decent episode. So now we are only one episode behind. Until tomorrow. Then we will be two. But that's okay. We'll catch up.

I'm worried about watching E.R. I don't like what they did to Ray at the end of last week's episode.
Okay, I've *got* to get myself a life.

I hope you enjoyed the eye candy. If it wasn't eye candy to you, get your eyes examined.

Bunco!

Online Bunco!!

Go sign up and play. It's free. And only one round of one through six. The only flaw is that you can't grab the dice if you roll a bunco. And it's like real bunco - - I didn't win!! I played last night. It was really fun. Check it out.

Also, Mom reports that there is Bunco tournament on Lifetime on Friday night. Cool.

(You Want To) Make Me a Memory

So I was getting my nails done yesterday (did I mention that Sam is gone?) and they had the T.V. on CMT. Which I think is funny, given that those people in there don't ever speak any English anyway. I went back to my old place because Sam left my new one. Sam. Oh. B is sad. Sam was the first person - ever - to do my nails completely to my liking. Ever. I called two weeks ago to schedule an appointment with him. They told me, "Sam not here. He in Dallas. He gone." WHAT? He didn't tell me. Then after a series of "Huhs??" and "I'm sorry, what?" I deciphered that Sam owns a salon in Dallas and he was only here to help with the opening of this salon. I was crushed. So I let another guy there do my nails. He was terrible. I was ready to track Sam down in Dallas. But, if Husband doesn't approve of me spending the money on getting a fill twice a month, I don't think I can justify driving to Dallas to get said fill. Know what I mean? So yesterday, I went back to my old place. A different girl did my nails. She was okay. They are kind of long. If I have time tomorrow, I'm going to get them shortened. Which, I'm sure, I'll get to pay for.

Back to CMT. I couldn't really hear it real well, but I could see it. And I was like, is that Bon Jovi on CMT? And lo and behold, it was. What was *he* doing on CMT? So my quest began. Sure enough. He has a new video out. You can watch it here. His new album is due out on June 19th. I'm looking forward to that. Only because that song is really good. I've listened to it over and over. Lots of songs about exes out right now. Creepy.

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts about his song. I like it. Plus, after all these years, he's still pretty sweet to look at. Anyone care to interpret the ending of the video for me? I have my own theory. Watch it, then let's discuss in the comments.

Hey Paris...

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Have you seen the radar?

We're all gonna die! We're all gonna die!

The flippin' radar looks like a blood bath.

Watches. Warnings. Hail. Flooding. Plagues of Biblical proportion.

Where's my Windex?

Will somebody stop that dang alarm on the Weather Channel? That beeping sends my body into little tiny convulsions.

Monday, May 7

Huh? What? For real?

Hey scrappin' sistahs - - have you ever had someone tell you that National Scrapbook Day was a load of crap? And I'm talking about another girl saying it.

Huh? What? For real?

Oh. No. You. Din't.

Those are fighting words.

This is a day with the girls that I L.O.V.E. Don't be hatin' just cause you aren't as into it as me. I'll mess you up. It was the BEST day.

I expect this from Husband. But from another chick? I dare you to talk that kind of smack to my scrappin buddies. We'll eat you for lunch. (And dinner!!) Bwa ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!

Mommy on the edge...

Dear Huggies,

I have noticed that Lion King has been on your diapers for some time now. How about changing that up? This Mom could use a little variety. My kid has had diarrhea today. I've changed several diapers and I'm sick of Simba. How about Dory? She makes me laugh. I could use a good laugh when I'm changing poopie diapers. Especially the runny ones. Those aren't funny.

My oldest uses your pull-ups. He was most pleased when you made the switch from Buzz to Cars. But a change there would be most delightful as well, as he has had the runs, too.

I have been a faithful patron of yours for three and a half years. Right now, two of mine use your product. I admit, I tried Pampers, but was not impressed. Huggies rock. I'm just asking for some variety.

Sincerely,

A Mommy on the Edge

Blog This!

Okay, Peeps. Here is my new feature. This will be the Monday morning challenge. Blog This! I will present a topic and then I will blog about it. Then if you feel so inspired, go blog about it on your site, too. Are you just a lurker? Go create a blog. It's free, it's easy and it's fun. You see that "B" in the gray block in the upper left hand corner of this page? Click on that. That will take you to Blogger's home page. From there you can create your own blog in three easy steps.

Now, back to my blog. Here is this week's "Blog This" subject matter - - If you could change one or two things about your appearance, what would they be?

My Turn:

First, I would lose weight. This one I have control over. I've done it before, I can do it again. I just have to push myself and really stay disciplined. It's hard to lose weight. But it can be done. I *hate* that I worked so hard to lose the weight before and I allowed myself to get right back to where I was. I think about all of that hard work - - gone.

Second, I would like to fix my chin and gums/teeth. I hate it when I smile that I'm all gums. My teeth are so small. And my chin is deficient, too. I would like to get a chin implant. I don't know how they'd fix my gums. The sad thing is that I love to smile, but I hate my smile. At least my teeth are straight now, thanks to those dang braces. But those gums. That's all I see. I really hate it. Right now the deficient chin is more hidden by my "waddle" from being overweight. So maybe a little weight loss will help with that. I'd love to get a little plastic surgery to "fix" me. But I'm scared to go under the knife for something just out of vanity. Does that make any sense?

So there is today's "Blog This." Can you handle it? Are you up for the challenge?

Go and Blog This.

Relatively Calm

I think I was too tired tonight to completely wig out over the storms. I wasn't running around my house screaming, "We're all gonna die! We're all gonna die!" I was even momentarily brave. I stood out on the patio and watched it hail. I know! Are you shocked? Then the hail started bouncing up and hitting me and I decided not to be stupid. So I came inside. Pea size. The alarms never sounded, so I remained calm.

The forecast? More tomorrow afternoon and evening. I should be rested up by then. So - - let the freak out begin...

I'm going to begin a new program for my fans starting Monday. Stay tuned. I think it will be fun.

Right now, I have a mountain of clothes to fold, about 20 minutes left of Brothers & Sisters to watch and then I've *got* to get my hiney in bed.

Kisses to my peeps...

Procrastination

Got me again.

First - - Our Sam's membership expired. I know we can just renew. But we had a business membership under Husband's work. I won't get into all of that now, but we can't use that anymore. Not Sam's fault. Just too many knuckle heads at Husband's work thought they needed to open their own account under the business name. Anyway. We don't have an account right now. So no pictures from there. I was quite spoiled.

Second - - I'd forgotten about my Wal-Mart photo center boycott. I remember now. If my pictures aren't ready in the morning, somebody's head is gonna roll. I'm serious. Remind me again why I will be paying for one hour? Something about the high volume and the size of my order. I only ordered 28 pictures. Yeesh. I got everything uploaded and ordered by 8:00. They close at 10:00. I was thinking two hours at most and I could slide in and pick my order up. I thought wrong. My order won't be ready until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. Huh? That's when my festivities start. Crap. I'm serious. Those pictures BETTER be ready. I have a few back ups. I'm just sayin'.

Other stuff - - J's underwear lasted about ten minutes. He piddled. Dang it. I'm sure he senses my frustration. How could he not? His Daddy is more frustrated than me. It's harsh. Potty training is not for the weak.

Tickets went on sale today for Round Two. Husband is at least looking at them. He's in complete angst over how expensive they are. I agree. They gouge you for the playoffs. I'm trying to convince him that this is an opportunity for us. We *never* do this kind of thing. We *never* take a vacation. And it is, however, the Spurs. Nosebleed section is about $100 a person. Yikes. Keep those good vibes coming. I think he's considering it.

Okay, I still have tons more to do to prepare for tomorrow. And I need to spend some quality time with Husband and Children. Plus, I've *got* to get in bed at a reasonable hour tonight.

Peace.

All that jazz...

Guess who had a fabulous time last night? That's right. Me. I'll be digging out my Chicago soundtrack today. And singing. I can't think of a better way to prepare for National Scrapbook Day. Yes, I've procrastinated. It's what I do best. But I'm not stressed. We do not stress about fun days. I will have fun regardless of what I get done tomorrow. I do need to upload a few more pics and get a few more things done, so I do need to limit my computer time today.

With that being said, let's talk briefly about the Mavs. Wow. Just wow. Did anyone see that coming? I'm not hating right now. Being serious. What happened to them? I think Golden State is to them like what they are to the Spurs. Just a force to be reckoned with. Unbelievable. I got home last night just in time to catch the final two minutes of the game and I was shocked. I'll repeat myself. You know things aren't right in the basketball universe when Dirk is shooting two for thirteen from the field. The probable league MVP? Wow. Great team. First seed team. Finished. I'm still in shock.

Cross your fingers for J today. He's wearing big boy underwear. I really hope this starts working out soon.

Okay, I have a lot to do. I'm outta here.

Thursday, May 3

Go, Spurs, Go!

And they advance to Round Two! Oh yeah!!!!

As luck turns out, so does Phoenix. Phoenix was the second seed is the Western Conference. That means home court advantage for the Suns. That also means that Game Three will coincide with our trip to San Antonio over Mother's Day weekend.

Could it be? Could it work out? Do I actually have the opportunity to go to a game? A playoff game? I don't even want to jinx it. You guys won't be able to stand me if I get to see them play. While I prefer primo seats, I'll take the nosebleed section. Just for the experience. It's the playoffs, baby.

Deep cleansing breath. Oh, Husband. Please come through for me. Please.....

Timmy, Tony, Big Shot Bob, Manu, Finley and his 3 pointers....

Life would be so good...

Creepy movie line

It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

Can you name the movie and the character who said it? Creepy... Yes, I'm dark.

Worried Much?

That's right Mr. Cuban. You should be a little concerned. Your first seed team is behind 3 - 1 to the eighth seed team in the NBA playoffs.

Who exactly *is* Golden State anyway? It looks like you are finding out. I guess you are going to chalk it up as bad officiating. That's what you do, isn't it? You big baby.

Your team could be out tonight. O-U-T. Since you are at home, you've got a shot. But when Dirk starts missing those free throws, show's over. He never misses.

Keep holding your breath, man. You guys are in hot water. Golden State just needs one more. Just one.

Go Spurs, Go!

It's an action packed girly week!

That's right. It's a girly week for me. It wasn't planned that way, but that's how it has turned out. I warned Husband about it a while back but I don't think it's really sunk in for him yet. So - - here's my schedule...

Tonight - - Bunco! (I really need to win to help fund the rest of the week. Wish me luck!)

Thursday - - It's Ami's birthday. The girlies are getting together to do dinner and then the theater. And what better to do than to let her pick a place to eat out? She chose Ichiban. Woo hoo! Then, and I have looked forward to this since it was first announced, we are seeing Chicago. The play. How cool is that? I am beside myself with anticipation. I can't wait to see how our locals pull that one off.

Saturday - - National Scrapbooking Day!! (Okay Bobby. Let me insert an eyeroll for you.) But I am way stoked about this one, too. An entire day dedicated to something I have begun to love almost more than life itself. And my bestest gal-pals will be there. Xanadu! I will be "playing" at Scrapbook University from 10:00 a.m. until midnight. That's right folks. A full day. They are feeding us lunch and dinner, teaching a couple of classes, giving away door prizes *AND* we get a fabulous gift to boot. (Can you *hear* the excitement in my voice?) Oh yeah. Life is good. NSD is serious business. I need to prepare. I put more prep work into it than I ever did into any college class I ever took. How sad is that?

Speaking of which - - duties beckon me. There are pictures to be uploaded, a shower to be taken, a bed that still needs to be made and a couple of phone calls returned. Before I leave, I want to brag on Husband. He is quite the trooper. I am so blessed that he loves our kids so much and is so good at taking care of them.

Later.

The Power of Ambien

It's Phawesome! (A new word that Yoda coined.)

So good that one does not flip out when a wicked storm plows through during the night. I woke up. I remember mentioning something to Husband about how nasty the storm was and then back to la-la land. It was lovely. I was too zonked to freak out. But what if I had needed to freak out? I would have been like Dorothy in Oz. Or maybe the witch. I'd have winded up under the house. Oh well. I wouldn't have known it. It was good to not be in such a panic for once. That was nice.

I better jet. C is home with me today. He's a little under the weather. Nothing serious. Diaper issues. But something I should tend to now.

I'll post more this afternoon about my week. I have an action-packed week ahead of me. It's gonna be CRAZY!!!!

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
