Mr. B and a .357

Just random stuff.

The last few days have consisted of a lot of laying around and watching television. Other times, I just lay there and listen to my kids playing. Here are some random observations:

~ Live television stinks. I bow to thee, my DVR. Thank you for making my life commercial free. For the most part.

~ There's nothing like hearing your kids slay dinosaurs that have invaded their room. I really feel sorry for those dinosaurs. They got their butts kicked a while ago.

~ I laughed my bootie off a few minutes ago when I heard me oldest tell my youngest, "You have FIVE minutes to clean this room up." To which my youngest replied, "Ummmmmm...no."

~ I couldn't even watch the fourth quarter of the Spurs game last night. That was brutal.

~ Do you know of anyone who has ever gone down to their local television station to review their children programming reports? Do you suppose anyone ever does this? I think it would be a hoot to do it with my husband sometime. Only, I'm going to refer to my husband as my legal counsel. That cracks me up just thinking about it, as I review their notes and scribble some of my own. If only I had that kind of time to kill.

~ Tamiflu may be lessening my flu symptoms, but it is wreaking havoc on my tummy. Even taking it with food. Ouchie.

~ The most listened to song on my iPod is Uninvited by Alanis Morisette. Kind of dark. I think it matches my recent mood.

~ It is not appropriate, at all, to laugh at my three year old when his Lego set falls apart. He told me so. It's not funny. (I beg to differ.)

~ I really liked the movie "The Other Boleyn Girl" the first time I saw it. Not so much the second time. The Tudors, series on Showtime, has ruined it for me. I like it *much* better. I'm anxiously awaiting Season Three's start.

~ My kids, doing the limbo, with my kitchen broom, is just hilarious.

~ Really good friends are an awesome thing to have. Thanks to those of you who checked up on me this week and who have helped shuffle the kids around. Even to my friend who went out and bought a new thermometer for me. (How have I existed SO long without an ear thermometer? That thing is way cool!)

~ A great husband is nothing to take for granted. He has been a life saver this week. I really, really, REALLY love him a little more every day.

~ Right now, I'm jealous of him. He is going out to the gun club to fire handguns. I think that's hot. He needs to blow off some steam and get out of here. I don't blame him. (I'm embracing my inner Sarah Palin. Sorry Yoda and Oph!)

~ Facebook is such a cool way to keep up with friends. From all over the world.

I think that's enough. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

Crap!

I have fever again.

Random Cell Phone Picture of the Week

Moe.
My baby.

He took good care of me this week.
He was just as wiped out as I was.
Oh wait, he always sleeps this much.

I think I may live!

I want to be careful and not get the cart before the horse. But - - I think I may survive this flu thing. My temperature was 99.2 this morning. It went up a little and then down. I'm feeling much better. Just really, really tired. I even showered, did my hair and put make up on today. Woo hoo! Then I stripped the sheets and bedspread off and laundered them. Maybe Mr. B will come back to bed tonight. He's pretty leery of the cooties, so I'm not sure. I won't lie, the snore free nights were nice. Very nice. But truth be told, I missed him. (I know, gross.)

Tonight is Parent's Night Out at church. It's going to be PN in for us. I don't feel much like eating out. The kids are already signed up, so we are going to come back home and watch the Spurs game on ESPN. It should be nice to watch it without the arguments of two preschoolers in the background. Yay!

I have lots to do still to prepare for my trip. I'll start on that tomorrow. I think.

I hope everyone has had a great week. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Please keep 'em coming.

A question...

How *do* you solve a problem like Maria?

99.9 and Tamiflu

I just took my first dose.

That is all.

More of the same.

Just when I think I'm feeling a touch better, I hit a wall. Fever is back up again.

Crap.

Last night sucked. It just plain sucked. I woke up at 2:30 and was freezing my arse off. I got up to retrieve the Tylenol. I thought my teeth were going to break at their current chatter rate.

I called the doctor yesterday, they were off for the afternoon. I called back this morning. His nurse told me it was in his list of things to review. Ugh. Why am I not his top priority this morning? What - - do other sick people think they are more sick than me? Please. Hurry with that Tamiflu prescription before it won't work.

*whimper*

I know - - I'm the worst sick patient ever. Ever.

Wednesday, February 25

I'm dying.

I'm quite certain I have the flu. It hit me this afternoon like a ton of bricks.

Fever, body aches, chills, very tired, extreme headache...

Somebody shoot me. Please.

I'm *so* glad I got that flu shot.

Please pray for my husband and kids. I don't want them to get this. It feels terrible.

Just a guess...

...what tonight's Presidential address will consist of:

The state of the union sucks.

It's all the previous administration's fault.

If you've been successful in life, that's not fair. You should share.

We're going to cut the deficit in half.

Standing ovations out the wazoo.

Change.

Blah, blah, blah.

There, I just saved you a couple hours of your life.

Brownies!!!

Cameron went with me to the grocery store today. He absolutely begged for some brownies. Who am I to say no to brownies?

To stop him from crying about something later on, I asked him if he wanted to help me make them.

"Sure!!"

Here he is helping. This was really all he was interested in participating in. The licking of the beater. I think he liked it. What do you think?

Monday, February 23

Happy Monday!

It's been a pretty nice day so far. The kids got to school (nearly on time, five minutes late) and I had nothing on my agenda. I came home and finished two scrapbook pages that have been in my "pending" file for some time. I needed to journal on them, etc. So - - I did them. I have a couple more that need my attention. I'd scan them, but Mr. B re-loaded his computer and the scanner won't work with his new operating system. And it doesn't work with mine. Maybe I'll take a picture of them and post them. I think I'll do that.

I got to have lunch with Susan. It's nice to have her back among the living.

Tonight is The Bachelor. Yes, I watch. However, this is my last season. I can't get over how pathetic those people are. It's sickening. I'm already invested in this season and want to finish it. Then I'm done.

I had a headache *all* day yesterday. Not a migraine. (Thanks Ash!) But a nagging headache nonetheless. I live in fear when I have nagging headaches. Lots of times, they turn into migraines. I just don't have time for those. I lose two days with a migraine. Who has time for that?

I haven't conquered Photoshop yet. I'm not going to worry with it too much until the retreat when Alison can tutor me. (Yay!!) Speaking of the retreat - - I can't wait! March 5th. That's NEXT week.

I hope everyone is having a nice Monday. I am.

Saturday, February 21

Where is B?

In Photoshop hell. This is so frustrating. I'm sure it's simple, once you get the hang of it. I tried to watch a video tutorial. Holy crap. I was yelling at that dude to freakin' slow down. It was crazy. I know how to touch up blemishes, reduce red eye, blah, blah, blah. I want to add flourishes and cute stuff to pictures. Enlarge a picture and then journal on it. Make my own overlays. Put digi frames on pictures. I want the world.

My buddy Alison says she'll hook me up. I'm counting on it A.

We have friends coming over tonight for brisket and the trimmings. It's a Texas thang. I shall take a break from CS3 and enjoy good friends, good food and good times.

Ciao.

Friday, February 20

The fruits of my labor.

What a productive morning I had. It's amazing what shutting this machine off does for my ability to accomplish things. It was nice to stay on task.

I completely cleaned the refrigerator out. I threw away TONS of stuff. (I'm glad Mr. B wasn't here. I'm sure he'd have wanted to keep the three bottles of very old spicy mustard.) I took the shelves out and wiped them down with bleach. Then I organized it. It looks amazing. He is going to love it. And be surprised that it wasn't just a surface cleaning.

I also made my bed, stripped the sheets and comforter on the kid's bed, washed them, cleaned their play room and straightened the house. Including the kitchen - - and the microwave.

Today, I am B - - Domestic Goddess.

Life is good when everything is clean.

I'm going to dust and then call my cleaning done for the day. Yay me.

Check me out.

Two days in a row, Fans. Two days. I was up, showered, hair done and make-up. I didn't get the bed made. But that's okay. We were on time for school. Again. As a matter of fact, Cam was the first one there.

*gasp*

I'm rockin' on with my on-time-self.

I'm feeling productive. I think I'll go clean the fridge out. I told Mr. B that I would do it this morning. He probably doesn't believe me. It's gonna sparkle, baby.

I'm shutting the computer off. I don't want to be tempted with the "you've got mail" alarm. I'm turning it off and letting it take a nap this morning.

I'll check back in with ya this afternoon.

*smooches*

Thursday, February 19

Cancer Sucks.

Please pray for the following:

Brandon Clark, friend of mine from Angelo State, tennis coach here at SAISD. His cancer is spreading to other bones. Not other organs, as of now. They are changing up his chemo. This last round was really hard on him and no positive results. New stuff in about a week. Please just pray for peace and comfort for he and his family.

Beverly Stewardson, my dad's first cousin. She's battling cancer herself. I'm not sure about her current status. She's done several trials. She gets really sick after them.

H's sister is having tests run. Things are looking better for her. But it's not over yet. So add her to this growing list, if you would.

So - - if you'd remember all of these families as well as the physicians that will be caring for them - - that would be great. We serve a mighty and just God. He wants the best for us. Anything less is just not good enough.

Prayer Request

Please be in prayer for my husband.

He broke his nose *way* back in junior high. It was a bad break, but never went to the doctor.

His allergies are really bad and he just can't breathe through his nose. He really can't smell anything. I talked him into seeing an ENT late last year. Mostly for the allergy thing. During allergy season, he sleeps with kleenex shoved up his nose. I know, gross. The doc looked up his nose and was like, "Yikes!" He asked Mr. B what happened...

Jump to yesterday. He finally went in for his follow up. (They had him do a CAT scan after his first appointment.) Sweet fancy Moses. Bad break. That's an understatement. The break was in sort of a Z shape. Which indicates a couple of breaks. On one side, the bone is actually protruding into his sinus cavity. No wonder he's so jacked up.

So - - sinus surgery and rhinoplasty it is. He is scheduled for March 10th. They will have to actually break his nose again. *shudder* Then they will have to pack it and stuff. *more shuddering* He will be pretty bruised under his eyes and around his nose for seven to ten days. He is most worried about the bruising scaring the boys. (Me? I'd be scared about shoving stuff up my nose and crying to the point of calling out, "Mommy!")

I hope this helps with his snoring issue. Maybe I can talk him into putting a rush on buying some recliners. I think he just might want to sleep in one for a few days after the surgery.

Thanks in advance for the prayers.

Patting myself on the back.

It is almost 8:30 and we are ready. I've had my shower, done my hair, put on make-up and the kids are dressed.

I am leaving the house with make-up on. Do not be alarmed if you see me. It is not an illusion. I, B, am going to be on time for something. And dressed appropriately.

*cheers*

and

*yay me!*

Did you hear the one about...

...Nancy Pelosi meeting with the Pope?

No joke. It really happened. And it cracks me up.

(Man, I'm kind of post happy today, huh?)

Random Cell Phone Picture of the Week

This is the *real* reason I went into Target today. I had one, I repeat ONE diet coke w/splenda left. I can't drink my secret reserve (as in, hidden in the back of the fridge, only use in case of emergency) diet coke unless I have another to put in its place. Mr. B had bought some the other day, but they were still in his truck. I decided I'd just grab a twelve while I had time to kill. This was what I found.

ONE twelve pack left. That was close. Too close. And - - on sale.

Definitely my day.

Have I mentioned lately that I have a somewhat strange love for this beverage?

Ahhhhh....

CANDY!!!

I got a new book the other day. It's a scrapbook thing. (It's listed over there at the right.) Well, it's really more of a glorified magazine. Of sorts. Soft cover, but firm pages. Anyway - - I've gotten several like it. They are a pain in the arse to read. And don't even think about trying to prop it open to scraplift something. What do I do about them? I take them to Office Max to have spiral bound. I've done it several times. It helps. A lot.

Why tell you this? It leads to this:

I dropped off my book and then went to peruse the racks at Target. I remembered that Mr. B told me that the candy was 50% off. I thought I'd go take a look. You know, 'cause the good stuff goes fast. Plus, he expected that it would go to 75% off soon. Guess what? Today, it was 75% off. Score!!! I bought four bags of peanut M & M's and one bag of plain. I bought something else, but that will have to wait for my random picture of the week. I don't care that the M's are pink, red and white. I love those colors. I don't care what color M's are. They rock.

I went back to OM and got my book. Yay - - so much easier to read!

Then - - I got in my car to call Mr. B. I told him he was right about the candy. It was 75% off today. He said, "How much did you get?" I said, "Why, how much did you get?" He said he was in line right then. We barely missed each other. Let's put it this way, we have TONS of candy. Like we even need it.

Our lack of communication paid off today. We have a ton of candy. Woo hoo!!!

Not gonna watch it.

The whole hoopla surrounding the bill-signing, big government at it's worst, Nancy Pelosi grinnin' from ear to ear, national debt up to our eyeballs, irresponsible piece of legislation party that is happening shortly in Colorado.

I believe I will eat lunch and then take a nap instead.

I *heart* my liberal friends.

Can I say liberal? Or is it progressive?

For Yoda & Oph - - because the thought of their heads doing a 360 degree spin, (circa 1973, Linda Blair, The Exorcist) makes me actually laugh out loud. And snort.

I actually saw this bumper sticker on a car the other day. I snapped a pic with my phone. And then accidentally deleted it. So I downloaded this one instead.

Sunday, February 15

Gatorade.

I am loving their commercials with KG right now. Funny! There are a series of them. I found the entire clip on youtube. If you have nine minutes to kill, give it a view. Some of it is pretty funny. It is to me because 1.) I am part of the cult following of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And, 2.) I am a fan of the NBA. It mixes the two. That makes it cool in my book.

Yoda will love it because it stars her NBA love, KG. He is going to make a convert out of her yet.

Here you go...

Sunday.

It's Sunday morning. And we aren't at church. Again.

Ugh.

I have really been enjoying this sermon series. I'm glad I can listen to them online.

Cameron's cough is VERY bad. Justin's is - - okay. He has ugly boogs though. Still, neither one of them are running fever. Which is a good thing in my book. I think I'm going to call Dr. P's office in the morning. I really hope we don't have to go in. I just don't want Cam's stuff to get out of control. He was hospitalized with this stuff as a baby. He'll drink, a little, but he's not eating. He appears to be in a decent mood though. We'll see what the doc says in the a.m. A pediatrician on Monday morning after the weekend. Oh, the joy.

Myself? I'm guzzling down a cup of coffee in hopes of easing my sore throat.

I'm telling you. It's some great times around here.

Plans today? Taking it easy. I'm going to go through some of my recent scrapbook purchases and do a little organizing for my trip in March. I don't want to take everything I own. Preparation helps. Then tonight, Mr. B and I are going to watch the NBA All Star game.

He said something about cleaning out the attic today. Blech. I don't want any part of that.

Well, for my church-going friends, I hope you were blessed by God at church this morning. Today, I pray for blessings on all of my friends. Thanks to each of you for your friendship.

*hugs*

Saturday, February 14

Hi.

That is all I have to say today. I'm going to go read a mag and listen to some music. Still have cough-y kiddos. Cam's is pretty bad. But no fever. Justin's seems to stay under control as long as he doesn't get real spazzy. Which, if you know him, is an issue. He is a total spaz.

I hope you had a great V-Day. We did.

Thursday, February 12

Creeping myself out.

I haven't shaved my legs in a few days. It's starting to creep me out. It's so bad that I think I'm going to go do it real quick. The thought of my legs touching my nice, soft sheets right now is just nasty.

I'll let you know how it goes.

(Anyone watching the Dallas/Boston game? Wow. Five technicals in the 3rd quarter alone. Doc Rivers got ejected. It's been exciting.)

Edited to Add (About 20 minutes later):

I did it. Whew. Much better. I even lotioned them up with some of that lavender vanilla night time stuff. Some days, I love the frills of being a girl. I loved it when my legs are freshly shaved and I'm all girly smelling.

I was distracted by realizing that I forgot to start a load of laundry. The boys have no clean jeans to wear tomorrow.

On that subject. Valentine's parties tomorrow. I don't really mind them. I hate it that both of their parties are at the same time. What do I not like? The bags o' crap that come home from these events. I. Hate. Those. That's just me. If you are a bag o' crap giver - - more power to ya. I just hate coming home with dollar store crap that we just throw away.

OMG!! What am I? The Valentine's grinch? Could be. It's my mom's fault. She birthed me the day before V-Day. I get the 'ole "well this is for both" bit a lot. But given Mr. B's gift giving, I'm fine with it. He loves keeping me technologically advanced. I love that he loves doing that.

The Celts have come from behind and are beating the Mavs now. Good game.

I'll talk about Survivor another time. I don't have a good feeling about this one. Nobody stood out to me. Well, except Jeff Probst. What's happening to me. I watched it. And I didn't care that I watched it.

I better jet. I've got a load of laundry to fold, a shower curtain that was washed that needs to be re-hung and I have to get the kids clothes together for tomorrow.

*Smooches from B-dom*

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Well, almost.

I got my birthday present from Mr. B today. Totally unexpected!! I thought the game was our gift to each other.

WRONG!!!

He sent me an e-mail this morning telling me that a package from Amazon was coming and not to open it.

Whaaaaaaat?

Okay.

It was here when I got home from picking the kids up from school. It was beyond torturous. When he got home from work (early) he tried to act like it was something for him.

Wrong again. It was for me alright.

He got me a new IPOD!!!!! He rocks. And now, so do I. I've been busy tonight learning the software and uploading some of my music. I can put videos, pictures and all kinds of stuff on there. I. Love. It! It is 120GB.

I have never been more shocked.

Happy early birthday to me. Again.

*smile*

What happened to T-U-V?

Retaliation

1. A blonde/platinum wig.
2. She is lying on some kind of fur thing. (kinky)
3. She also appears to be nakey.

Blast from the past...

My parents - - I don't know the year.

Mom with Bobby and me. Probably around Easter of 73?? I'm not sure.

My mom...

She is posting some hilarious pictures of me over on her blog. Go take a look...

Tuesday, February 10

The forecast for tonight.

This should make me feel much better.
*insert major eyeroll here*

I freaking hate West Texas.

Changing blog clothes - - again.

I'm not sure yet. We'll see. I have the software to create a cool title banner. The question is: Do I have the patience to do it?

This will have to do for now.

I'm sure I will quickly tire of this and change it.

But not today.

Truth be told, I don't feel real good right now. I woke up with a sore throat. I just don't feel right. I can't be sick this week. I. Just. Can't.

I need to grab a quick shower. I'll try to think of something interesting to post later.

Something new for my fans...

I thought I would add a new weekly feature for my fans. I'm going to do a "Random Cell Phone Picture of the Week."

You are on pins and needles, aren't you?

I'm going to snap a picture with my phone and upload it to my blog. Feel free to discuss. I don't care.

And, without further ado, here is this week's picture:

Yes, that's a Christmas wreath on the grill of that SUV. It's February 9th. Take the wreath off.

I may have *just* put my decorations in my attic. I'll own that. I did take them down by New Year's though. This is ridonkulous. (Yes, that's a word. It was on Bolt. It's also in Urban Dictionary. I'm diggin' it.)

So, to you oblivious people out there, please take your Christmas Decorations down.

This public service announcement was brought to you courtesy of B.

Have a good one...

Sunday, February 8

A couple of updates...

1. I cleaned off the counters in the kitchen but never got to the floor. For some strange reason, I'm not over-reacting to this storm. I guess because we are on the wussy side of it. Whew. But thank you God for the rain!!!!

2. If Mr. B had gotten up Saturday morning and said, "Hey Mrs. B, I'm gonna need your help cleaning out the garage today." I would have given him a particular look, laughed inside and found something that desperately needed my attention in the house when duty called. Like, maybe, actually making the curtain for over the bathtub. (Yes, I've had the material for weeks now. Don't judge me.) Yet somehow, Saturday afternoon, I found myself in the middle of the garage carting things up to the attic. (Like the Christmas tree and decorations. Again, with the judging.) Well, there was a box by the door that he'd piled up from the last time he cleaned the garage out. It was meant for me to go through. Not once had he complained about my not doing it. Nice guy. I'd have been all over him if it were one of his assignments. I'm shamed. I didn't do that until Saturday. And boy, oh, boy. I wish I had. Guess what I found?

THE MISSING CD'S!!!!!

Oh, welcome home Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and my classical piano music.

Livin' On A Prayer, Janie's Got a Gun and Claire de Lune.

Life is good.

Guess what I am doing...

See if this helps determine your answer:

Yes, that is tonight's forecast. Not just thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms. 90% chance.

So if you guessed "cleaning like a mad-woman..."

I just finished cleaning the playroom. Then I steam-cleaned the carpet in there. It smelled like stinky boys and Wheezer. Yes - - Wheezer has been on another peeing rampage. She's lucky she's so stinkin' old. I take pity on her. She also pukes the canned cat food that my Moe loves. I simply can't handle cat puke. The sound, the site, the smell... It's wretched.

On a happier note, the Spurs beat the Celtics. In Boston. GREAT game!!! Right now, Cleveland is beating Los Angeles. I like that. Let's hope that keeps up.

Okay - - the kitchen floor beckons. And counter tops. Mr. B is loving storm season getting an early start.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my shows aren't hosed up tonight with over-zealous weekend weather-persons. They like to break in every three minutes. I'd rather just wait for the alarms to sound and go to the closet. (Which, by the way, I can get into. That's right, I rock.)

Back to cleaning...

Saturday, February 7

Tryouts

Okay. It really pays to be "up there" in the alphabet. Try outs started at 10:00. We were done by 10:20. He did really good. He hit the ball off of the tee each time. Here he is batting:

Then he had to run to first base. This is where things got a little, uh, funny. I have no video to show you. There will be plenty of others shots to get in the future, I'm sure. However, in case you are curious, it looked something like this:

We've worked so hard on batting, throwing, fielding, etc. But not on running. Who thinks you would need to practice that? Rest assured, it's high on our list now. Here he is fielding a ball:

We are really excited for him. He seems to be pretty pumped about it himself. I told him that if baseball turned out to be a career for him, Mommy and Daddy didn't want to profit from it at all. We just want really awesome seats in our season tickets. That's not too much to ask, right? For now, it's the metal benches. You gotta start somewhere.

T-ball draft is today...

And Justin has a terrible cough. I hope he can make it through. If I were him, I wouldn't want to go. I don't think he really does. He going though. Even if it's brief. Just to make an appearance to say that he isn't feeling too well, but here's how awesome he is. I think for t-ball, the draft is kind of a formality.

But still. We have to go.

I'll post some pictures later.

Happy Saturday!

E-Harmony Date Gone Wrong?

Help me figure this one out...

This is a random pic from Saturday night. This was in the Hard Rock Cafe. These two *maybe* said five words to each other. The whole time we were there. They just sat there. He kept gawking at the three girls at the table below them. To be fair, those girls were *very* cute and Mr. B said they had the sexiest accents. They spoke very little English. The reason we know this is because I asked them what they were drinking. (The pink drink.) It just looked good, that's why I ordered it. I digress...

Back to the boring couple.

We just couldn't figure them out. Do you think it was an E-Harmony date gone wrong? They had nothing to talk about. It was just - - weird.

Your thoughts?

The Spurs Game

Oh the irony of this first picture...

Don't miss a moment. Sadly, we did. Here's the DL on what happened.

Be there when the doors open. - check

That part takes a bit, but not too long. You go through the doors where they look through your stuff first. And it was a close one. Mr. B was a few people ahead of me and walked right in with his camera on his side. I read on their site that you can take a camera in as long as the lens was shorter than three inches. No problem. Right? WRONG! They were announcing over the PA system that no cameras with detachable lenses would be allowed. You could either take them back to your car or check them in with guest services. This is later a very important piece in the puzzle. Anyway, Mr. B made it in fine. With his camera hanging right there on his shoulder.

My turn. I had the mega-lens in the bottom of my purse. Very well concealed. She looked in, then felt the outside of my purse. Crap!!!! She asked me to remove my wallet so she could see in. I was freaking out!! Going back to the car would have been a twenty minute ordeal. I knew the mister wouldn't check that lens in with guest services! So, I opened my purse up and shifted stuff around so she could see in it. I was sneaky. Each time I grabbed stuff to pull back, I'd grab ahold of the lens and pull it back, too. I have to admit - - I did a DANG good job. The lens was never visible and she let me pass. Whew. Too close.

Go directly to guest services in section 101. - check

Time to get our wrist bands. Two problems here. First, the line was *way* long with people that were supposed to get a free Tony Parker fleece blanket (first come first served.) Secondly, it was also full of people having to check in their cameras. (Ouch!) I got behind a man that wanted details upon details upon details regarding the safety of his camera. He asked no less than eleventy billion questions. I finally butted my way through the line and asked for my package. He handed it to me, no problem.

We got our wristbands on and headed into the lower section. I could see the players running back inside. Whaaaaaat? We got down to the guard rail and the usher said it was over, we'd have to go back to our seats. Shut. Up. That's it? Nothing? I went through all of that for freakin' nothing? I was pissed. And then - - very, very sad. I could feel the tears welling up. I was so disappointed that my big coup was going to be nothing more than a nice view of the empty court. I. Was. Devastated.

That's when I heard this, "Hey, Eva. Here. A picture please?" Yep. It was her. Eva Longoria. Less than four feet from me and the mister. We missed her. I saw her from behind though. Geez that woman is TINY!!

I sulked and we walked back to our seats. Bummer. Mr. B told me that it was totally okay and he didn't see where we could have done anything different to make it work. The Spurs went back to the locker room 45 minutes before tip off. Not 20. Chalk it up in the "things that just suck" category.

Our seats were great. To a fault. Standing *right* next to us, the entire game, was an usher. We were right by the opening. There was no way we could get the camera out and put the big lens on and take some pictures. We didn't want to get thrown out and we didn't want the camera confiscated. So - - this is the best picture we have:

In it is Tim Duncan, Kurt Thomas, Tony Parker, Michael Finley and Manu Ginobili. Right by the free throw line is Chris Paul from the Hornets. (He and Tony Parker are good friends outside of the game. Chris was a groomsman at Tony and Eva's wedding!) I discovered that Chris P is quite a whiner. He was constantly whining to the refs. I enjoyed seeing David West from the Hornets receive a technical. That was funny.

The Spurs won, 106 - 93. Not as close or as intense as the Dallas game last year. Still a good game. And I'm glad we went.

I e-mailed guest services on Monday and told her about my experience. (I was very nice.) She apologized and re-extended the offer. She said that the next time we go to a game, just let her know and she'd help us try again. I thought it was WAY cool of her.

Until next time - - Go Spurs Go!!!

Yesterday sucked.

No other way to say it. I woke up at 6:30 with a migraine. Dang it. I had *way* too much to do for a headache. The only thing to do for those is go to the doc, get a shot and sleep it off. Or - - take some phenergan at home (what I'd get in a shot) and sleep it off. Option two takes longer to work, but I don't have to sit in a waiting room with a headache straight from the depths of hell.

I chose option two. Luckily, I was able to keep the meds down and drifted off into la-la land around 9:00.

Mr. B took the kids to school for me and Susan picked them up and then took them to AWANA last night. Thanks a gazillion to both of you.

I completely missed my "Go Red" luncheon. I hated that. I had been looking forward to it. I was even on the committee. Crap. I hate having to call and get out of stuff. This could not be avoided though. I'd have had to have been there in a wheel chair. And sleeping.

I slept ALL day. And ALL night.

Today, I am so "loopy." It's like I just can't wake up. It's usually like this the day after a headache like that. I'll be better by noon, as long as I don't let myself go back to sleep.

So, with that said, I'm headed to the coffee pot. Have a lovely day.

The River Walk Farter

I can't believe I left this out. This was HILARIOUS!!

Saturday night after we left the Hard Rock, we were taking a pleasant stroll back to the hotel. We were about 30 yards behind another couple. I'd say they were in their 50's. He had his arm around her and they were going at a leisurely pace, too. I don't think they knew we were behind them. I'm sure of it.

Because - - when they were climbing a set of stairs, he let one go. And it was LOUD. I don't know if it was just that it was so quiet down there and the acoustics aren't that forgiving or what. I just know it was loud. The wife started laughing at him. I looked over at Mr. B, gasped and then started laughing. Mr. B was laughing, too. We tried to muffle our laughs. I mean, it does seem kind of juvenile to laugh at a fart. We *are* in our late thirties and above that, right? Apparently not. Because we got SO tickled. We kept walking, as did they. Then, Mr. B had to cough. That's when she turned around and saw us.

I would have given anything to see the look on her face when she realized that someone was behind them and had to hear it.

That is all. It was pretty funny.

The River Walk

We had a wonderful weekend! I'll start out with some pics on the River Walk. We took a bazillion. Here are a few. I'll describe each one above the picture.

Here is me and Mr. B. This is actually over behind the Alamo. The last weekend of each month, there is a huge fair on Market Square. The place was hopping because of the rodeo starting. Some nice lady offered to take our picture together.

Here is Mr. B on the river. Isn't he handsome?

Okay, so we totally couldn't resist the cattle drive. It was *right* in front of our hotel.

This was a sign inside the Hard Rock on Saturday night. I just thought it was funny.

This was one of my beverages in the Hard Rock. It was really good. On the rocks - - that's where it's at.

A man. A purse. A murse? This looked totally gay.

You see all kinds down there. Sexy...

Awwww... I thought this was too cute.

This is where we went Friday night. We didn't eat because we'd eaten a really late lunch and weren't hungry at all. Just thirsty. ;-) We were going to go back Saturday night after the game, but they were closing already. Most of the restaurants shut down at 11:00. We got down there about 10:45 on Saturday. We will definitely go back to eat there next time.

This was the Texas size one. And it was plenty for this feather-weight.
This was, no doubt, the source of my headache on Saturday morning.

I'll do a separate post about the game later. We don't have too many pictures from the game. LONG story. It was a good game though. And the Spurs won. So even better!

We are home. We had a fabulous weekend. I'll update you more tomorrow. Right now, I'm calling it a day.

Goodnight.

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
