Fun Week!

We saw two movies this week, swam (a lot), got 1/2 inch of rain (which puts us just under three inches for the year) and we celebrated Noah's (my youngest brother) birthday.  The boys are about to leave to go to a kid's workshop at Lowe's.   I plan on using the hour they are gone to do a power sweep through the house.  Picking up, vacuuming, and cleaning.  After lunch I'm cleaning off my scrap table/desk and I'm going to actually work on a page, a mini-album or something.  I've GOT to do something crafty soon.

Television

I believe everyone is aware that I live with boys.  Their ages range from five to forty-one.  You can imagine what they like to watch on t.v.  It often involves reptiles, goofballs on skateboards, dorks that think they can jump off of roofs, car crashes, etc.

These things don't interest me.

At all.

So - - I watch t.v. in my bedroom.  I have developed a torrid love affair with Lifetime television.  I know LAME.  But right now, an old favorite is on.  The Color Purple.  It's sad, but I really look forward to Friday nights.  Why?  The viewer's choice on LMN.  It's a mystery to me what's going to be showing.  And I look forward to this?  Do you feel sorry for me?  Don't. I'm actually quite happy.  I'm kind of pathetic.  But I'm happy.  I don't have to watch a bunch of doofuses try to skate on some handrail down some long flight of stairs.  I know how those antics end.  Every time I walk through the living room, I remind the boys that, "We don't do these things!"  I can only hope they are listening to me.

In the meantime, I'm going to chill out in my room, fold a little more laundry and watch a movie I've seen 9000 times.  And I'm going to like it.

But first - - I've been asked to make some popcorn.  Not the microwave kind, the "real" kind.  The things we do for the handsome men in our lives...

The Stupid

Dear Wal-Mart Patron,

Yeah, you.  The one wearing the "I'm allergic to stupid" t-shirt.  You were entering through the exit.  I was exiting.  *You* were in *my* way.  You might want to grab you a bottle of Benadryl while you're in the store.  You are about to have an allergy flare up.  Maybe buy you a different t-shirt whilst you're shopping.

Big dummy.

Sincerely,

Just B  (Not stupid.  Just always amused by the stupid.)

End of our first week...

Let's just say that things started good, got bad in the middle, and are finishing off much better.

I got a migraine Tuesday night.  I haven't had a bad one since October.  I woke up every 30 minutes with the pounding in my skull.  It was awful.  I wanted to cry.  I needed immediate relief.  But I couldn't get it.  I wasn't about to wake Mr. B and the kids up for a trip to the ER.  I'd just have to tough it out.  It SUCKED!  I finally started getting everyone out of bed around 7:30 Wednesday morning.  I wanted to be there when the doors opened at the "doc in a box."  There was lots of grumbling.  But we made it.  I was home by 8:40 and pain free about five minutes later.

I had that drugged up feeling for most of yesterday as well.  I tried to stay awake and not sleep.  It's just SO hard to get up and get moving when I'm all "foggy" like that.  I started to feel much more like the real me about 8:00 last night.  Whew.  I think the medicine is out of my system now.  Wow.  It really works.  But talk about losing time.  I lost two days.  Boooo!  I'm so thankful that Mr. B is so understanding when those stupid headaches hit.

I get my haircut this morning at 11:00 and then I think we're hitting the pool right after that.  I'm going to stop at the store and get me a good hat though.  I have to keep the sun out of my eyes.  It's a headache begging to happen if I don't.

We're going to finish painting this weekend.  Fun.  (That was in my sarcasm font.)  I just want it done.

Have a great weekend!!!

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
