A trip to the movies...

The J man and I went to the movies yesterday. We saw Horton Hears a Who. I thought it was adorable. Of course, I was happy to find a cartoon with an elephant that doesn't make me cry. (Don't get me started on Dumbo. *sniffle*)

As with any pre-schooler, you can't "plan" anything in advance. They will ask you about it a gazillion times. So - - since we are learning about time and "patience" - - everything is referenced in "sleeps" these days. I made the mistake of telling him on Thursday that we'd go to the movies on Saturday. To a four year old, that is a lifetime to have to wait. Two sleeps? And then having to wait until the 2:00 showing? It was torture. I'm not sure who it was harder on - - him having to wait or me having to answer for the 8,000th time whether or not it was time to go yet.

He was so pumped about the experience. (He truly is my son!) He wanted popcorn, a drink, a pickle, a snack and he even had heard that they have candy there!! Once we got there, he settled for some "Mike and Ikes" and a small drink. He later mooched off of my butter-drenched popcorn. After he had spilled his candy.

Cute, cute movie though. On B's rating scale (of kid's movies) I'd give it an A-. I mean really, Finding Nemo is such a tough act to follow. Just keep swimming...

I'll close with one of my favorite lines from the movie:

"I wonder what ASAP means anyways. Maybe act swiftly awesome pachyderm."~Horton

This is how my day started...

That's right. One heck of a headache. It has diminished. A little. No thanks to the millionth slammed door around here. Why Cam thinks that is so funny is beyond me. But I'll tell you this - - if I had somewhere to put his and his brother's doors, I'd remove them. Today. I'm sick of the slamming. Sick of it. They are preschoolers. They don't need privacy. The knuckle-heads. Great big knuckle-heads.

The lights are bright. The sounds are loud. Nothing smells good.

Headaches suck.

Update for the stalkers

I had leftovers for lunch.

Y & R was boring.

Two hours until PNO.

I haven't done that load of laundry yet.

Cam is still a pain. He likes to open the fridge and drink directly out of the OJ container. Therefore, he spills. That will make for a third time this week the floor will need to be done.

Care for anymore details into my day?

This is B. Over and out.

It's Friday!!

Some random thoughts:

It's a lot chillier today than it was yesterday.

Cam is a pain in the rump to take inside of *any* store.

Parent's Night Out is awesome. Tonight, from 6:00 - 10:00, we are "child-free." Woo-hoo!

I'm hungry.

I think candles are nice. One can never have too many of them. (The mister does not agree with me.)

Unplanned family excursions rock. (We took a walk down to the park last night. So fun!!)

March Madness sucks. I *loathe* college basketball. (Isn't that ironic?)

Sour cream that falls out of the grocery bag on Tuesday and is found in the trunk of the car on Friday is most likely not any good anymore. Just a guess. I'm not willing to test this one out.

Never, ever tell a lie. Which I don't. I learned this lesson as a child. It's much easier to tell the truth. Then you don't have to worry about keeping your story straight. I hate being lied to. I absolutely hate it. The truth isn't always easy. (After I get over the anger of being lied to, I find it somewhat comical watching someone get tripped up in their own lie. Is that kind of wicked of me?)

Oh - - I think my washer just *might* be okay. I'm going to test it out on a load of darks here in a bit.

The Spurs are in an epic battle for playoff position right now. It's exciting.

I believe that's enough for now. I'm going to go and do something about the hungry thing and maybe watch Y & R while I do it.

Ciao.

Shooting the bull with the Judge...

Yes. That's what I did. What I didn't mention in yesterday's post was that I know him from way back. Like first husband (ten years ago) back. (Ick. I don't like talking about him.) I was kind of hoping that I'd bump into the Judge and he'd pull me aside and give me the friendly West Texas nod as he made my "speeding citation" disappear. Unfortunately, I had already pled "no contest" when he showed up and I didn't feel real comfortable asking. There are lots of lines I'll cross. There is a time and a place for everything. That just wasn't one of them. So - - I'll be talking Defensive Driving. I can hardly wait. (That was totally dripping with sarcasm in case you were wondering.)

If you'll look at my previous post you'll see that everything on my list was crossed off. Yay me! Now, I can't take credit for the Sam's run. The mister did that one for me after work. My meds weren't ready when I was going to go by there. And the groceries one - - well, I forgot a few things. Meh. Just bacon. We don't need that until Saturday morning anyway. The other things we needed, Mr. B picked up at Sam's. So - - I'm sitting pretty.

Except - -

MY WASHER!!!!!!

I was finishing up the last load last night. So proud of myself. I opened up the washer to move that load into the dryer when I noticed *smoke* coming out of the drum and I smelled something electrical. You've *got* to be kidding me. I'd like to know who exactly I pissed off to have this perpetual dark cloud following me around. My washer? Again? No. No. NO!! If memory serves - - it was this time last year when my washer crapped out on me. In storm season. Remember the whole laundromat thing? The dude with the rump-rust stained boxers and the hail storm on the Sunday afternoon?

I'll tell you what, if it weren't for this kick-ass cup of coffee I'm drinking right now, I'd be tempted to drive my car straight into a pack of Maytag Repairmen. I'd find them. Surely they still exist. Remember the television commercials? The mister tells me that Maytag went out of business or something. Yeah. You think?

Oh. My. Gosh. If you had *any* idea exactly how many times I've had to freaking backspace because my stupid "k" didn't type.

Look out. I'm a "mommy on the edge..."

Tuesday, March 25

Today's to-do's:

  1. Go to municipal court and handle my speeding ticket. Oh joy.
  2. Get my nails done. I really need a new set. This could potentially take forever. I don't have forever. I have three and a half hours to get ALL of my list done.
  3. I need to get groceries. More joy.
  4. I need to pick up prescriptions at Sam's. Not so bad. Just another stop.

I already dropped the children off at their holding facility for the day.

Ahhhh.... It's so quiet in here. I wish I had nothing to do today.

I'm wasting time.

I should have something to blog about after going to both traffic court and Wal-Mart in the same day. It should make for some good times.

later.

Something that frustrates me...

The "K" on my keyboard. It's all jacked up. I'm going to "un-jack it." Bear with me.

kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkk kkkk kkkkkk kkkkkkkk kk k k k k kkkkkkkk k kk k kkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkk

Okay. Who was eating syrup around the "k" on my keyboard? Fess up.

One of the kids perhaps? How convenient. Kids. With a "k."

How do you clean a laptop keyboard?

Saturday, March 22

Addendum to previous post...

My sweet husband scrubbed the stuff out of my house while we were gone. I mean - - he cleaned it from the tip top to the bottom. He cleaned doors, baseboards, he painted, he cleaned bathrooms, scrubbed the kitchen. He freaking cleaned. The man is a machine. The house smelled pine fresh when I walked in the door. (Oh yeah, he also steam cleaned ALL of the carpets and used the floor mate on all of the tile.)

Number one - - I am shamed that the house was in that shape and needed that sort of cleaning. Everyone talks about how clean our house always is. It's surface clean. He went and deep down cleaned it.

Two - - how sad that this is what he did with his time away from us. I really wish he'd had some fun. I feel bad. I should have had it ready where he could have had some fun.

However - - he is a work-a-holic. A maniac. He doesn't have the art of lounging around down quite like I do.

I say all of this to tell you - - what shall I do whilst I am freaking out during this storm? I unpacked our bags and put everything away already. (That is so not me.) Now, I wait for my sleep meds to kick in and I shall go to sleep.

Quarter-sized hail. Stupid hail.

*yawn*

Ummmmm.....yeah.

Thunderstorm Warning. Quarter-sized hail.
It's good to be home.

White Sands

Such a fun place! This was the perfect time of year to go. The last time I was there, it was something like 8000 degrees. Today, it was 71 degrees. The sand was cool. The kids and I played in it barefoot. It was glorious. We had sleds with us and tried sledding. I don't think we were on a steep enough incline. We just couldn't get going. Instead, the boys played with toys Mamaw had gotten them. Justin also took to rolling down the dunes on his own. If only he had figured out how to keep his mouth closed! Oopsie! Here is a picture of them. Tomorrow, we are going to chill. We are having a great time. (Yes, I'm reading my book. Slowly, but I'm reading it. I'm just not a fast reader anymore.)

Wednesday, March 19

Greetings from the mountains!

We arrived! And in typical B fashion - - it was not without incident.

I nearly went AWF on a woman in the Mickey D's parking lot today. Actually, I did go off on her. I seriously went off on her. She just couldn't hear me.

Both of my kids were screaming. Justin wanted to buckle himself in and couldn't get it. I *insisted* on doing it for him. It didn't sit well with him. Cam was having a come apart because he did not want to move from the front seat to the back seat. (I was moving car seats around. Apparently seating the kids seats right next to each other is NOT a good idea.) I had the truck door open and was trying to situate the seats. It was not going well.

In drives "Grandma." At least that's what I called her. She was probably my Mom's age. I think she had her father out for his Tuesday afternoon ice cream at McD's. She wanted the space next to the truck. Forget the other 10 spaces in the lot. The one my butt was occupying was the one she wanted. She waited. And waited. And waited. My Dad motioned her on and she said she wanted that one. It was closest to the best spot in the sidewalk for her father to get to. He used a cane and couldn't step up on the curb. So they waited. And my kids screamed. I was about to lose it.

I finally got the seats situated. I got Justin buckled in. As my Mom was passing Cam back to me, she spilled my tea. In my Dad's *brand new truck.* GREAT!!

Grandma was still waiting.

She finally threw it into reverse and snagged the spot two spots over. By this time, I had both screaming kids buckled in. I was sitting in between them. My spilled drink was wiped up. I was more than frustrated. I look up to catch her glaring at us. Was she concerned about her handicapped father getting inside the store? No. She was more concerned with making sure that *we* saw him walking with a cane. She watched *us* the whole time. Poor Pops was on his on.

I. Lost. It.

This is where the child safety lock thing backfired on me. (Lucky for my parents.) I was grabbing the door handle - - trying desperately to get it open. I was ready to confront her. I was going to invite her to sit in between my two children. I was going to tell her about how they'd been more than irritating the entire trip. One of them had just thoroughly fondled the bathroom floor. The other one had played on the floor under the table. I'd had enough. I was *screaming* at her through my window. I was so mad that I couldn't get my door open.

I understood why she wanted that spot. But come on, lady. It was cold and I just wanted to get them situated and on the road. If she'd been a little compassionate with us, I could have been with her. I'm sure it wasn't that long ago that she'd had little ones. Maybe she even has grandchildren of her own. I don't know, maybe she's freakin' SuperMom and her SuperKids wouldn't have been as unruly. I don't know.

We all laughed about it later. I still can't believe the way she was looking at us. Don't judge me. *snicker*

Monday, March 17

Doppler. Indicated. Tornado.

This is the image I've chosen to represent me during this storm season. Yes - - I am freaking out. Is it beyond my control? Yes. Am I still a big coward? You betcha! I took my Ambien and am praying that Jesus will help me fall asleep soon. The mister has very specific instructions should the mega-alarms start sounding. I've already cleared out my closet. With that all being said, I give you this season's representation of my freak-out episodes. When you see him, know that I'm on the verge of losing it myself. For I am B. And I am just a ginormous coward.

Something funny before I leave town...

I don't care how many times you hear this - - it's just funny. This is the kind of crap I'd love to pull on someone. My kind of humor. Use your discretion with kids...

Sunday, March 16

As the J Man would say...

...only two more sleeps until we go to the mountains!! I don't know who is more excited. Him - - for getting to go to Mamaw and Papaw's house in the mountains or Daddy - - for getting a week to himself.

Yoda loaned me a book to read. I have every intention of reading it while I'm gone. They have internet there. However, I'd seriously like to limit my internet usage. I'm finding the need to taper off in general. I don't read anymore. At all. I don't look at my scrapbook magazines anymore. The internet is cool, but it has sucked the life out of me. So - - this will be a spring break from the web. Don't get me wrong, I'll check in. I'll even post to tell you about my trip. I just probably won't compulsively check other blogs and websites like I've been known to do. In summary - - I'm going to have a life. (By the way - - the book is The Kite Runner.)

Something else I'll be up to this week - - prayer. Prayer about my attitude. Sometimes the course of events with the recent drama in my life still blow me away. I try really hard to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Truth be told, the puzzle doesn't need to be put together. It doesn't matter. At all. I think because in my heart - - I know my heart. I know my true intentions. But better yet - - God knows my heart. My real friends know my true intentions. Like I've said all along - - love me for who I really am or don't love me at all.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm not a compassionate person. I think can be very compassionate. And empathetic. However, I can't constantly reassure the insecure. It's not my nature. I think this is why God didn't give me little girls. I'm not a hand-holder. I'm not a "it will all be okay" kind of girl. I'm more of a "put your big girl panties on and get over it" kind of girl. Will this little paragraph get me in trouble? More than likely. Not trying to be ugly. I can't apologize for who I am. I won't apologize for who I am. I am who I am. (Did I just sound like Popeye?)

So why do I need to pray about my attitude? Just trust me. I do. I don't want bitterness to get a foothold in my life. I already feel it. I'm discovering that I'm distancing myself from the one place I love - - church. It's not any one individual. It's a combination of things that have happened that have made me want to retreat to my safe place. The four walls of my home. Here, I'm not hurt. At least not for long. I know it's not right. And it's right where Satan wants me. I know all of this. All too well. So this week - - I let the Holy Spirit work on my attitude.

To my different groups of friends I got to spend time with this weekend: thank you. You each have no idea how refreshing it was to my soul. No idea. I left both nights feeling loved by my friends. I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything. And my parents??? Wow. The older I get, the more I discover a friendship like no other in both my father and my mother. Wow - - what allies. They have been very loyal friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Okay - - this cheesy love fest should come to an end before my newest "no-vomit" streak is broken. *gag* (and *snicker*)

peace

Friday Funny - stolen off of Yoda's blog

Thursday, March 13

a few quick notes...

Busy, busy, busy!

I'll try to give you the Cliff Notes.

Cameron threw up. One time. A lot. He seems to be fine. Gross.

Justin is running a temperature. Nothing else appears to be wrong with him. It has gotten as high as 101.8. I can tell when he has fever because he moans. I would, too. He had one heck of a nap and is now watching a movie is his room. Yes, at this hour. Why do I complain? I'd be up anyway. Just sayin'.

Oh - he just came in here and ordered a little Gatorade. Your wish is my command Little Man. BRB, everyone.

That was fast, huh? I know what you must be thinking. He needs the fluids though. Flush the crud out, I say. He'll wake up to pee. The trouble is, he'll wake me up to help him. He hasn't figured all of that out yet.

Let me tell you, it STINKS in this house. I'm talking about odor. I'm cleaning the coffee maker right now. The one that has been in the mister's office. As a coffee drinker - - I was more than offended when I saw that thing. He brought it home to clean it. (He doesn't have a kitchen or any type of break room at his office. Just a bathroom. He refuses to use the bathroom sink to rinse out the pot after each use. It's just the sink. Not the toilet. And since it's the men's room - - I'd say that there's a better than average chance that it isn't used much anyway. Again - - just sayin'. But never rinsing the pot out at all between uses? *gag*) Anyway, he brought it home today. Oh. My. Starbucks. Coffee foul of the utmost sort. I scrubbed the snot out of the outside of it. Yes, the entire thing was filthy. I am now running vinegar water through it. Ugh. What stank. I predict running another batch through - more stank - and then soaking the lid in bleach. It was that bad. Remind me to thank him in the a.m. I'm going to put a big sticky note on it telling him he's not allowed to leave the house with it. He's not checked out on it. I think a course in hygiene will be required first. That and an oath to serve and protect.

I haven't handled my ticket yet. I'm dragging my feet. I only have 14 days to handle it. I better get cracking. *mutters to self* "Cocky motorcycle cop."

Did anyone watch Survivor tonight? Wow. James is the man. Really. He. Is. The. Man. You go, Gravedigger.

The Spurs? Eek. New Orleans whooped up on them Wednesday night. Bad.

The Thunderbirds are going to be here this weekend. I love them. We will try to go but the mister and I are worried about how the kids might handle it. Is the sound bad for their ears? I'm sure they will do their practice thing tomorrow afternoon and we will be able to get a sneak peek right here from our front yard. So cool.

Okay - - I have a mountain of laundry to fold (a slight flaw in my system this week.) It's okay, I didn't get to watch Y & R today. So I'll double up.

Have a good one.

Tuesday, March 11

Timing is everything.

8:45 - The doors open to the kid's school.

9:15 - We finally leave the house.

9:20 - The kids arrive at school.

10:15 - I hit the Starbucks drive-thru. Ahhhhh. Just what today needed. I can hardly hold my eyes open.

10:30 - I arrive at SU for my class. Great study. Good verse about love. Loving others. *SO* what I needed to talk about today. (I get to do it again tonight!)

12:15 - D calls. Can I do lunch at Chick-fil-A? Sure. I needed to go to the store, but sure, I could squeeze it in. I'll be right in front of Wally World.

1:00 - Lunch is over. Time enough to zip through Wally World? Yes. Stick to the list and it can be done. Go for it.

1:15 - Head to the check-out line. So proud of myself. Slight snag though. Lazy checker on aisle 12. I started to help out and pick my bags up and put them in the cart. She finished and then just stood there and watched me. I bent over to put something in the space underneath my cart when my sunglasses fell off of my shirt. (I hang them on my shirt when inside the store. All. The. Time.) One of the lenses popped out. Blimey! I picked everything up and shoved it in my purse. I'll fix 'em later. I get to my car, load my groceries in my trunk and then listen to the goofballs in the truck next to me. She had her door propped open to where I couldn't get my door open. She was talking to her husband about having "nothing" to wear. *me screaming inside my head* I DON'T CARE!! GET YOUR ARSE IN YOUR TRUCK, SHUT THE DOOR, DEBATE IT THERE. I'M NOT IMPRESSED ONE BIT BY THIS DISCUSSION. NOR DO I THINK IT'S CUTE.

1:29 - I glanced down at my watch as I peeled out of the Wally World parking lot. Crap.

1:30 - Blue & Red flashing lights of the motorcycle cop jolted me back into reality. I only thought I was going to be late picking up the kids before. Now - - it was reality. You've GOT to be kidding me. How fast was I going? Not today. Not this week. This week really, really sucks.

1:31 - (No, "Hi. Do you have an emergency?" Nothing.) "I need to see your license and proof of insurance ma'am." Great. Then it was a "Sign here, blah blah blah, 37 in a 30, blah blah blah..."
He was NOT in a good mood. If he'd only known. He could have at least been nice about it. I would have taken my lumps a lot better if they'd been administered with a smile. I smiled at him. Not in a flirty way. Just in a nice way.

I didn't cry until after I had signed my ticket. He asked if I had any questions and I said no. I didn't. It was pretty black and white. I was speeding. He was doing his job. I got caught. He was pretty flippant when he told me to slow down. I wanted to tell him to kiss my butt. But I didn't. I didn't feel like it was the response he was looking for. Plus - - it contradicted the "loving others" I'd just studied. Ugh. Why did God have to give me a life lesson so early? Couldn't it have been a cheaper one? One that won't land me in Defensive Driving?

I don't know what time I finally picked the kids up from school. But I got there. At 30 m.p.h.

Timing is everything. Especially God's timing. Me? I need to slow my butt down and budget my time better. I need to make better decisions.

Luckily the Mister didn't kick me while I was down. He did manage to squeeze in that I was bound to get caught sooner or later. He thinks I drive like my hair is on fire. I sometimes wonder if it is. At least it's not my pants! *snicker* Okay - - I'm out.

(Will someone stop the insanity? I want off this ride.)

Guess what bit me in the ask again?

Procrastination.

*ugh*

I wish I had some chips and salsa right now.

When *will* I learn?

Sunday, March 9

Falling apart...

I am *pretty* sure I have another stone trying to work its way out. I have been hurting in my back since Friday. Today it has gotten significantly worse. Can I just say that this sucks?

And then the Spurs lost. Again.

*sigh*

Wii are out of control!

This game is a riot! The J man has adapted to it quite well. I'd say that for a four year old, he is pretty stinkin' good. He can beat me in tennis, baseball and bowling. Do you know how humiliating that is? To be "schooled" by a pre-schooler? Yesterday, Daddy bought him a new Mario game for it. He has gotten pretty far in it already. I challenge anyone to come over here and play him in any game. A warning to you though - - don't wear your pride on your sleeve. I'd hate for you to lose it here. Go ahead and check it at the front door.

New Lease on Life

I've got to give a shout out to my girl, Yoda. Just the mental breath of fresh air I needed last night. Thanks, girl.

She sent me a video clip of Randy Pausch's Last Lecture. In the summer of 2006, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. There has been a lot of discussion in the media recently about this particular form of cancer. It is one of the most fatal.

Randy Pausch is a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He was invited to participate in the Last Lecture series, in which faculty are invited to imagine what they would say to students if they knew they were about to die.

His speech was amazing. And unfortunately, it wasn't a what-if scenario. He is terminal. In part of his lecture, he talks about choosing to be either a "Tigger" or an "Eeyore" in life. Go here and see the video.

I choose to be a "Tigger." And I choose to surround myself with other "Tiggers." Life is just more fun that way.

Clarification

It has never been my intention to hurt feelings here. Ever. Read the site. Don't read it. It's up to you. I just want to have fun. I just want to talk about my day. I want to talk about the things that go on in my life. For the most part - - I want to be light-hearted. Occasionally, I get passionate about things.

So - - for the record. If I have ever hurt your feelings here - - I. Am. Sorry.

Carry on...

The Game

Because it bears repeating - - it was fabulous!!

We left Thursday around noon. When we got to San Antonio, we checked into our hotel and just kind of vegged for an hour or so. Then, we called our party that met us there and headed out for dinner.

We found the AT&T Center, first. Just to be safe. Then found a place to eat. BBQ it was. There wasn't much to eat around there. We built ourselves plenty of cushion time. Just to be safe. We were NOT missing those player intros and the tip-off.

We finished dinner and got to the Center just as they were opening the doors to let people in. I. Was. Giddy. As we are navigating the line to get in, we sort of hear an announcement about cameras. I had my little camera in my purse, David had the Rebel and H had the mega lens in her purse. I was afraid they would make us (meaning David) take it back out to the car. (Which, by the way, would have FREAKED David out. He would have been convinced it would be stolen.) A slight scare and a purse search for me, but we were allowed to take our stuff in. They didn't see the mega lens in H's purse. Whew. That would have gotten us in trouble. Glad we had it though. David snapped some AWESOME pics with it. Even with the low light. I was going to post some here, but there are just too many to narrow it down. I'm going to put an entire album up on our family blog. Not tonight, of course. It takes forever to do that.

They gave us scratch off tickets as we entered. I just stuffed mine in my purse and went on my merry way, kind of overwhelmed by the whole experience. I'll get to this later.

The dancer girls were scattered throughout serving as greeters. I "urged" David to go over and let me take his picture with one of them. It didn't take much urging. I think he was shocked that I encouraged him to do it. He looked hilarious with that grin on his face. Oh the scrapbook page that's going to make!! (By the way - - even *I* thought she was hot. Just sayin'.)

We finally found our seats. Unfortunately, they didn't come with oxygen masks. With that altitude, we needed them. We were still center court and could see quite nicely. It was just quite a climb.

Some of the guys were out shooting and warming up. I got excited all over again.

Then I saw my basketball nemesis. Mr. Cuban. Yes, we have pictures of him. He is not my only basketball enemy anymore. Jason Kidd is numero uno. Then Mark, then Dirk. They are all now in my Basketball Coalition of Suck.

The intro of the players and the tip off - - sent chills down my spine. LOVED. IT. Exactly what I was looking for. All of the lights went out. I shot it on video on my little camera. It was so cool. Then the tip off. It was on.

When the first free throw was being shot by the Spurs, I quickly discovered that I had another person to add to my BC of S. It would be the Mavs fan sitting directly behind me. Wow. Just wow. I had to be sitting directly in front of the biggest a-hole in the entire arena. Seriously. The man was a butt-munch. He shouted out, quite loudly, "BRICK." I did a double take. I'm sure David was thinking to himself, "Oh please, B, keep you big mouth shut and your glances to a minimum." This guy was huge. He had on a Mavs jersey, with no t-shirt underneath and he was sucking down the brews. To say he was obnoxious is an understatement. He went on and on the entire game. He would whistle, too. One of those "put his fingers in his front teeth and whistle SO loud" kind of whistles. My ears were bleeding. I *so* wanted to go off on him but I was skeered.

I'm getting long winded, I'll wind it down.

The Spurs won in what can only be described as a nail-biter. It came down to the last few plays of the game. I saw some incredible plays - - by BOTH teams. It was an awesome game for us to attend. I was so relieved they won. Whew. I was on a high.

And when that final buzzer sounded, I turned around behind me. What? Where did the Numero Uno Mavs fan go? I don't know. He pulled quite a Houdini. He was gone!! Too bad. I would have loved to have seen his face. For once.

The rest of the weekend - - some shopping, some dining, some Starbucks. I even went to the movies. I saw Vantage Point. I liked it. It was intense. Good flick. I give it a B+ on B's movie scale. It had so much more potential. It didn't play like I thought it would and it got kind of redundant.

Oh yeah - - the scratch off ticket. I won a Tony Parker mini basketball. Cool, huh? Nobody else in my group won. I gave it to the boys when we got back. I never win anything. I didn't play the ticket until shortly before the game started. We were already in our seats. So - - I had to get back up and take the hike to the other side of the arena to collect my ball. Ugh. But I won.

Better yet - - my boys won. And I had the best time. The best.

If you are still with me - - wow. Are you really this bored? I don't know that I would have hung in there in such an epic post about a sport that I don't give three flips about. If you skimmed, that's okay. I'm not bitter. The Spurs won and I had fun. That's all you really need to know. I'll post a message when the pics are up in an album on the family website.

Go Spurs, Go!!

The Mister Rocks

He fixed it. I knew he would.

I *LOVE* him!!!

Doesn't this look great? I think this is more *me* than the girly looking flowers. I should put a disclaimer up about me not being responsible for any weight gain due to increased chocolate consumption.

I'm out.

Don't Drink the "Kool-Aid"

You would *so* not want to be me right now. My urologist ordered a 24 hour urinalysis before I left the hospital yesterday. My instructions were to start first thing this morning. That's right folks, I have to collect my pee every time I go. But wait. That's not all. It can't just sit and collect bacteria at room temperature. It has to be chilled. Yep. You guessed it. My pee-pee is in my fridge. *gag* Do NOT drink from the orange container in my fridge.

Now - - just for giggles - - imagine me taking my "specimen" back down to the doctor's office in the morning. I will have Cam with me. Good times.

*me reciting to myself* Just don't trip, just don't trip, don't spill the pee, don't spill the pee.

You know - - I could play some funny jokes on people if I had an extra container. *insert evil laugh here*

Okay - - who wishes they were me? Come on. Admit it.

Bear with me...

I love this design. But it needs tweaking. The resident expert is at work. Yeah, yeah, blah, blah. Pay the bills, I know. So - - I wait for the mister to get home to fix it for me. Tell me, though - - do you like this one better? I do.

I promise I'm going to tell you about the game. Right now, the boys are at school and I have some things to do. I'll work on my story and upload a few picks by tomorrow. Deal?

Until then...

Checking In...

Just a quick update - -

I had a FABULOUS time at the game. The Spurs beat the Mavs in what can only be described as a "nail-biter." I will post more about this later. Probably more than you care to hear.

My absence as of late? We left town on Thursday and got home on Saturday. We were beat. Cam was running a fever when we got back. Not real high, but a fever. Justin was okay. My back was hurting from what I assumed was the long ride in the car. Sunday morning I woke up with an all too familiar pain in my abdomen. I was also quite nauseous. Un-freakin-believable. That's right my fans and stalkers. I got stoned. Again. This time, I didn't waste time. I was lucky enough to have my parents in town. My dad picked me up and took me to the E.R. while the mister stayed home with the kids.

It was the same routine. CAT scan, IV, drugs (twice) and no relief. So - - they admitted me to the hospital to control the pain. I was in that stupid E.R. from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. I'd had NOTHING to eat or drink all freaking day. It was horrible. Needless to say, when I got into my room, I guzzled down a Diet 7-Up like I'd been roaming the Sahara for days. (It really was refreshing!)

This stone was huge compared to my other ones. It was holding me back from peeing. But I'm happy to report that at 7:00 this morning, that little gem worked it's way out of my bladder. (A side note here - - whoever invented that self-administering drug pump thingy - - yes - - that is a thing of beauty. Just sayin'.)

After I gave birth to my little calcified friend, I was good to go so they let me go home. Aside from a slight headache, I'm doing pretty good.

Is my life crazy or what? Does this qualify me for an excused absence?

I'll report about my weekend later. Because, it is worthy of discussion!

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
