Good news, bad news.

The bad news is that we didn't plan far enough ahead and don't have a spot to camp in this weekend. *insert sad face* I was looking very forward to an extended camping weekend. Bummer.

The good news is that our choice spot is available next weekend. So - - we camp then instead. *insert happy face*

I'll take what I can get.

I've been looking at reservation sites *all* day. It appears that Labor Day is the weekend to camp.

You may carry on with your day now.

You said you wouldn't look here anymore...

...yet I see you still are. Worried?

(The person I'm addressing this to knows exactly who she is.)

Green Smiles

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the system. Green is good, yellow is a warning and red is bad. Ms. S also has blue. That means either you were sick or had a bad day emotionally. I told Justin that if he got green smiles all week in his behavior folder, then I'd spring for ice cream on Friday. Guess what!!!! We have four green smiles in our folder! Woo hoo!!!!! So, tomorrow, he gets to take a dollar to school to get ice cream after his lunch.

Way to go Little Man. I'm so proud of you!!!!

Fifteen Minute Cleaning Challenge!

Bring it, girls. If you are home. If you want to count your office or checking off a "to-do" list at work, go for it. See how much you can get done in the next fifteen minutes. Come back here and comment what you got done. Be ready, I'm going to take a few of these challenges today.

Ready?

Go!

Good Morning!!!

It's 8:15. I'm dressed, I have make-up on, my kids have been fed, Justin has been at school for 45 minutes and the coffee is on.

I can see where I have the potential to get lots done. I didn't realize how lazy I was before school started. I really led a rotten life. Reality has hit the House of B. And so far, I'm okay with it.

Now - - to the coffee pot.

Monday, August 24

He did it!!!

It's official. We have a Kindergartner in our house. This was the only picture we had time for at the house this morning.

Isn't he adorable?

We are all exhausted. It's bedtime for them. I don't think we will have as much trouble getting everyone to fall asleep tonight. That is including, but not limited to, me. I'm about to head to the shower, lay out Justin's clothes for tomorrow, sit in bed and fill out some paperwork and then crash. I plan on being in a REM cycle by 9:00.

Oh, just heard an announcement from the kid's bedroom. Apparently, Justin is officially quitting Kindergarten. We have a potential drop-out situation upon us. I think going to bed when it's not "night" is not working out too well for him. We need some darkening shades. Stat.

Here goes nothing...

Ambien.

*eyeroll*

The mind is a very powerful thing. It basically said, "Screw you Ambien." I didn't sleep worth a flip last night. I ended up in bed with Justin. He was a little bundle of nerves. He didn't fall asleep until a little past 11:00. He was in bed at 7:00. He tossed and turned all night. As did I. I've been awake since 5:30. 5:30. Really? The last time I saw this hour was maybe going to bed at it. This is early. It is *way* early. I can't believe I have to do this five days a week now. I have been so spoiled.

Well, time to start breakfast and wake this house up. It's a shame. It's so peaceful and quiet in here. Justin cried and cried in bed last night. He asked me if I could stay with him today. He asked me if we could just wait one more day. He told me he'd miss me. Things that broke my heart. I hope he was just tired. I'm hoping he wakes up excited and ready to start this new phase of his life.

Feeling the sting of the tears,
B

One More Sleep

Only one more sleep until Kindergarten starts! I can't believe it is finally here. Here are some pictures of the shopping and events that have led up to the big day tomorrow.

Here are his school supplies. I was so proud of him. I let him pick things up off of the shelves himself. When he wanted things to match, I was giddy with excitement. Orange was his color of choice. Yay!!!

Here is the altered paint can I told you about.

This is the back of the can.

These are the "goodies" inside the can. Dry erase markers, Crystal Light singles, Germ-X, Tylenol, moist wipes and some cute post-it notes.

Here is Justin at the Barber Shop getting his hair shaped up. No more buzz. He actually has a tiny bit of length on the top.

Headed into the school to meet the teacher and drop off his school supplies.

Meet Ms. S. Isn't she adorable? Justin seemed to like her. Her room was decorated so cute. She interacted with the children so well. She is new to the district, but not new to teaching. I'm excited about this school year. She made me *want* to help out. She was pretty jazzed about the gift. (How could she not be? It was dang cute if I say so myself!!!)

I'm going to iron clothes tonight. I simply cannot believe this day has arrived. It just doesn't seem right. Where did the time go?

To my peeps that are "handling me" at lunch tomorrow: thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. I have the BEST friends.

I'll post pictures of the big day sometime tomorrow. Say a prayer for us and wish us luck!!!

Thursday, August 20

Here I am...

Have you guys been afraid that I'm lost? I'm not. Just busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest. (Does playing poker online for hours on end count?)

I really don't have anything of substance to report. Nothing. We go to meet the teacher tomorrow. Justin is pretty jazzed about that. I've made his gift for her. I just need to add her name to it. I might do that in a bit. I'll take a picture or two then.

I'm going to get my nails done in a few. Then to Wally World for a few necessities. After that, I'm home for the day. Bunco is at my house tonight. Kim has a sick kiddo. So she's hosting at my house. Luckily, I only need to run the vacuum and mop the kitchen. I'd have done that today anyway. Did I tell you guys that I completely cleaned up my scrap space? It looks MUCH better. So neat and organized. *smile* I love it when it's like this. I also cleaned out my dresser and my closet. Yay!

I better go.

*smooches*

(I apologize for the most boring post ever.)

Tuesday, August 18

Still Here.

I'm alive. Just uber-busy. I'll post more tomorrow.

I'll say this: Justin asked me tonight if he can call me "Mom." Why? WHY? Why this week?

*sigh*

Nine More Sleeps

That's the answer to the question I'll get in the morning.

Justin: Mommy, how many more sleeps until I get to start Kindergarten?

Me: Only nine more sleeps, Justin.

Just nine. We are now into the single digits. This is getting a little harder every day. I listened to "Find Your Wings" today. Big mistake. *sniffle* I will cheer as he spreads his wings to fly. I will always cheer. There's just something about it that makes me get the biggest lump in my throat and my eyes start to burn. I can't believe it is so close. I'm going to miss him so much.

*sigh*

Crappy Day

To sum it up: Moe brought a snake onto the back porch. I lost my ever lovin' mind. I called Mr. B at work and begged him to come home and kill it. I missed my hair appointment because of it. It sucked.

Yes - - I am *that* afraid of snakes.

The snake had gotten away before Mr. B made it home to rescue me. I am *freaked* out now. I won't even go in the backyard.

*shudder*

I'm going to bed. At least my stylist loves me and let me re-schedule for tomorrow.

{boys}

Here is my layout. I never found the card reader. So I took a picture with my little camera instead. Check out the brads at the top of the page. I made them with my new i-top brad maker. So cool. Simple page, but a finished page. Yay!

My Page

I scrapbooked a page today. But I can't find my freakin' CF card reader. And for some stupid reason, the one on my printer is not working. I can't scan because Mr. B loaded a new operating system on his computer and he doesn't have the drivers for the scanner. If they even have them yet. (Dang, that almost sounds like I know what I'm talking about.)

So - - you will have to wait to see the page. I know you were all on the edge of your seats with anticipation. You may go to bed now. It will have to wait.

Mixed CD's

I LOVE to make different cd's to listen to in my rockin' minivan. I change them out often. I rarely listen to an artist's cd. I can't take the same thing over and over. (Except Michael Jackson. I don't care what you thought of him, that man could sing. I've made my own MJ Hits cd, too.) I usually have to shake things up a bit. It's my own Top 20. Yesterday, after swimming, the boys and I took the van to get it washed. It was filthy. Nasty filthy. As we were walking outside to get it, after it was all sparkly and shiny, the guy that dried it off was just laughing, smiling and singing! "Hit me with your best shot..." and "Oh baby you, you got what I need. But you say he's just a friend..." It was hilarious. He said to me, "Girl, I love your cd. I love that old school stuff. I need me one of those."

So - - I hit eject and handed it to him. I told him, "Beware, there is some good stuff on here!" He started laughing when he looked at what I'd named the cd. "Good Stuff." He was grinning from ear to ear.

So, Mr. Carwash Man, thanks for shining up my van. Enjoy the tunes...

Hmmmmm.

I think I'm going to do something creative today. I think I shall scrapbook a page or two. I'll post later when I am done. Sometime before midnight...

*smiles*

It's as if I wrote this commercial myself...

Better now.

I let something stupid get to me. Someone who is a peon in my life.

It's all good. No big thing. Just someone from high school and college that has yet to grow up. Dumbass.

Minor Rant

If you don't like what you read either here or on my Facebook profile, I have some advice for you:

DON'T FREAKIN' READ IT!

Either put me on ignore, de-friend me or don't come to my blog. The choice is yours. I can take friendly humor. What I don't like is being made fun of. Especially when it's not in a good spirit. When you are doing it to be mean - - you may please leave.

*walks away muttering to myself*

Look what I found!

I took this picture with the camera on my old phone. I forgot I had taken it until I switched phones. This was on the memory card. This was one of those days I wished I had this view with our good camera. The view didn't last long at all. But it definitely gave me chills. It's just another reminder of God's Glory!!

The Secret Life of Bees.

Not a good thing.

Unbeknowst to my dad, a bee crawled down his straw while he wasn't looking. He sucked up some of his drink and *presto* bee in the mouth. Do you know what happens when you get a bee in your mouth? They panic first and then sting. Ouchy. Dad managed to get the stinger out. Those stingers are tiny. I can't imagine having one in my mouth. He was alone with Justin (who is *very* afraid of any kind of insect.) He didn't want to tell him he got stung. He was also afraid that if for some reason, he had an allergic reaction, he needed someone to know what happened. All was good though. He said the ice water relieved it some.

Fast forward to today. We were waiting in line for a slide and guess what? A bee stung Justin! I pulled that stinger out. The only thing that made Justin happy was when we told him that the bee died when it stung him.

Bees. Cute in the Bee Movie with Jerry Seinfeld. IRL? Not so much.

Pray for Alexyss

She is about to be hospitalized for dehydration. They are going to get some fluids in her and find out what is going on.

Please pray for quick healing for her, wisdom for the doctors and peace for her parents! Kim is with her now.

Never Say Never

I swore I didn't need one. I don't guess I *need* it. I didn't think I wanted one. And then Mr. B got one last week. I coveted!!!! Luckily, my dad had an extra phone that was due for an upgrade. The downside is that I have to use his number for a month. (Ugh!) E-mail me if you want it. I will go back to my old number when the 30 days are up. I have to keep Dad's number while the rebate on the phone goes through. Meh. Small price to pay. I've still got the other phone with that number. I'll check it sporadically.

Anyway, here it is:

Kim - - you will die when you see the "theme" I have on there. It's a picture of Edward, Bella and Jacob from New Moon. Yummmmmmmmmmmm...

It's official. I caved. And I LOVE it!

Never say never.

Acid Reflux Sucks

I have it. Bad. Super bad tonight. We're talking - - "sleep while sitting up" bad.

Ugh.

I'm going to watch a movie while I fold clothes. Everyone is asleep around here. Including the kitties.

I wasn't the least bit freaked out by the storm tonight. Crazy, huh? Who was praying for me???? *smile*

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday.

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
