Eclipse

I feel like a bride at the end of the wedding reception.  Now what?

I loved it.  In more of a love to hate it kind of way.  Well, I loved Eclipse.  More action.  More Emmett.  More Jasper.  Lots of people trying to kill Bella.  Right up my alley.  I have really grown to despise Edward and Bella together.  I know it's fiction.  But hello - - can you say, "Unhealthy relationship?"  I didn't realize, until last night, how pathetic those two really are.  I tolerated Twilight.  I enjoyed New Moon more than Twilight.  And Eclipse more than New Moon.

We had awesome seats.  Well, excluding the nut case behind us.  Then there was the one in front of us who took every opportunity she had to go outside and smoke and then bring her stank back into the theater.  Gross.

Here I am, waiting in line, ready to enter the trilogy...

And here is our group, after the showings were over.  Sometime after 2:00 a.m.?

And here is me.  That's right.  Screw Bella.  Jacob and B.  As it should be.  Bwahahaha!

Why I Love Caller ID

You know, you really should block your number if you are going to make a phone call, get the wrong number and then hang up.  The proper etiquette is to apologize for the wrong number.  Not to just hang up upon my "hello."  I'm guessing you were looking for Ichiban.  (We get that a lot.  I usually give the caller the correct number.  I'm nice that way.)  If you hang up on me, I'm going to turn my children loose on you.

Attention 325-340-3201, that voice mail you just received (because I guess you were too chicken to answer your phone when I called back) was from my six year old.  Have fun trying to understand what he was saying.  And next time, try to locate your manners.  I'm generally not annoyed by people with manners.  Rude people, on the other hand, unleash my dark side.

Just sayin'.

Did I jump the gun?

How many of you still look here?  Blogger added some new features that make me wonder if I made my move too early.  What do you all think?  Should I stick around here?  Or do you like the new one on www.beckybray.me better?  I think I know the answer.  So please be honest.  I want this easy for my fans.

Going Live!!!

I'm getting ready to go live with things.  Probably tonight.  So - - here's what you need to know.

www.beckybray.me will take you to my new blog.  Some of you use that address already.  Just keep using it.

www.beckitasblog.blogspot.com will stay here at blogger.  I'm not even going to attempt to move any of these entries over to my new one.  There is a link on the new one for here and you can look back anytime.  I am not going to delete this blog.  It will just not have any new entries.

The register feature on my new blog is fixed.  So feel free.  But don't feel obligated.  Registering and logging in will give you the ability to look at photo albums and any new features I add to the website.  It isn't necessary to just view the blog though.  So please - - don't let the fact that I'm not using Blogger anymore freak you out.

I'm looking forward to it.  I hope you are, too.

See you on the other side!  Mwahahahaha!!!!!

Glitches

There is a glitch with the registration.  I'm working on it.  Well, sort of.  I have no clue what I'm doing and Mr. B is in a meeting.  This *hardly* qualifies as an emergency worthy of interrupting him.  I'll snag some help from him tonight.  In the mean time, I'm going to try not to jack things up too much.  :D

Sunday, June 13

Sneak Peek

I'm almost ready.  I'm still working on it.  This link isn't the permanent one you'll use.  You'll eventually use www.beckybray.me.  For now, use the one in red above.  Please let me know what you think.  Poke around.  Have fun.  There's a lot to see.  Major changes!!!!  Woo hoo!!!!!

Get Ready

I'm working on re-designing my blog.  I was waiting for Mr. B to do it.  Apparently, it's not a priority to him.  *eyeroll*  Whatever, Mr. B.  *giggle*

He has showed me just enough to be dangerous.

I'm getting closer to ditching blogger altogether and going out on my own.  My address will still be www.beckybray.me.  But I won't be limited to blogger's capabilities.  I'm pretty excited.

2:00 in the afternoon and I haven't had a shower yet.

I'm lazy.

Oh - - I'm not totally ditching FB.  Too many people where that's the simplest way to stay in touch.  I don't want to complicate things in my life.  I like simple, easy and chill.  So, I deleted all the games and blocked them.  I also ditched about 200 of my "closest" friends.  Heh.  Whatever.  I'm keeping FB limited to pretty much my inner circle with maybe an outer rung or two here and there.  I freak out when worlds collide.  I want FB (and here) to be fun and not consume too much of my time as well.  We'll see how I handle the moderation.  I typically don't handle moderation well.  I'll try though.

Gotta jet.  I really ought to do a few things around here and then get back to my design work.  Stupid hygiene.  I guess I'll go take a shower.  Ugh.  It's going to totally throw off my groove.

Thursday, June 10

I'm doing it.

I am breaking up with Facebook.  It's going to be a clean break, too.  I'm totally de-activating my account.

It is a time-sucking vortex.

And - - the word "facebook" has been in too many of my conversations lately.  I like my life much better before FB.  So - - it ends.

I've seen too much of the negative that can come of this "social networking" and "reconnecting" that FB offers.  Also - - how do you do it and not hurt someone's feelings?  I don't need everyone in my business and in turn, I don't want to know everyone's business.  Some that I'd like to just delete altogether, I can't.  So - - I'm putting a stop to it.  It's over.  The end.  Ciao.  Buh-bye.

Prepare to see more of me here now.  This is good.  A one sentence update isn't always enough for me.

(You can pick your jaw up off the floor now.)

I'm back, baby.  And I'm loving my freedom.

Wednesday, June 9

Something funny.

Me:  Justin, why are you hopping around holding your wiener?

Justin:  Because I can.

Bwahahaha!  The joys of boys.

Naptime.

I rarely take them anymore.  And I have things to do.  I just feel like I've hit a wall today.  I am physically and mentally drained.  I boycotted any socialized contact for the afternoon.  I'm going to do about fifteen minutes of straightening and then I'm going to lay down.

I would saw off my right arm right now if it meant I could go get a massage.

Monday, June 7

Something to ponder.

I am super paranoid that people might think my kids are dorks.  I see other kids that are total dorks (and their parents usually are as well) and I wonder if people think that about me and my kids.  Do they think, "Oh, that poor child doesn't have a chance."  Or, "Bless his heart."

I see other kids that are total dorks and it makes me nervous.

Facebook

I took the Facebook app off of my Blackberry.  Enough is enough.

Plus, you can't hide people on the BB Facebook app.  Uncool.  And let's just face it.  There are some people that I just don't need to know everything about.  Plus all the farm and mafia stuff.  I couldn't do anything with it on my BB.  So - - deleted.

I feel so free.

I won something!!!

Go check this out.  That's right.  That's me.  I enter stuff like this all the time and I never win.  My patience paid off.  (That's right, the Becky B. listed is me.  *woo hoo*)  Thank you, ScrapScription.

So stinkin' cool!

Whew.

**This entry was written last night.  But blogger was down.**

We went to Austin this weekend.  We left Saturday morning and just got home.  We went to see our niece graduate from high school.  It was at the Frank Erwin Center at UT.  There were eleventy-billion people there.  They were doing one graduation after another.  It was insane.  We saw her commencement though.  She is a "W" and was the fourth from last.  She is going to Angelo State this fall and we couldn't be more thrilled.  I think Cameron is the most excited.

We stayed at a nice hotel but unfortunately weren't there long enough to really enjoy it.  I think we have decided to vacation there this year instead of traveling further.  It seems like the 3 1/2 hours in the car is just about enough for us.  Plus, the thought of dealing with altitude sickness again isn't too appealing.  Poor Cam.  :(  I think there will be plenty of fun things to do in Austin.  And besides - - Keep Austin Weird.  Right?  We can do that.

Don't be jealous but I got to do a few totally righteous things today.  I got to hang with the kids at Chuck E Cheese's (don't laugh, but I totally love going there), got to go to Archiver's for the first time (and I got to go alone) and then I had a fabulous lunch at PF Changs.  Life just doesn't get much better than that.  I have some new Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny and some Star Wars paper for the kidlets.  I love Fancy Pants.

I am unpacked and have things put away.  (Woo hoo!)  After a quick shower, I'm going to start a load of laundry, watch Army Wives and hit the hay early.  VBS starts in the morning.  It's going to be exhausting but oh so much fun.  I *heart* VBS.

Have a great week.

Respect the Bubble

I am a believer in a good, firm, single-pump, semi-quick release handshake.  I also think that you should make eye contact when you shake.  It's just the way I was raised.

What I can't stand is a cold, dead fish, wimpy, wet noodle handshake.  They freak me out.  Grab my whole hand, not just my fingertips.  Mean it when you shake.  I don't know if it's a Texas thing or what.  I was just raised to believe that you can learn a lot about a person by their handshake.

Am I the only one?

Now, if you are even somewhat of a friend - - a one arm, quick release hug is acceptable.  Quick release is key.   I'm not a hugger.  I'm not touchy-feely at all.  I generally don't touch and I prefer not to be touched.  I'm not adverse to it.  I just don't do it.  So if I do - - I mean it.  It's from the bottom of my heart.

Full on hugs are reserved for my kids and my husband.  Maybe a few others.  Any man that tries the full on hug with me will freak me out.  I can tell when someone is copping a feel.  And I don't like it.  First off, I usually anticipate the half-hug.  A full-on hug throws off my groove and my face is pointed in the wrong direction and I feel all goofy and it looks like we might kiss.  I don't like awkward in real life.  Only on The Office.  Real life awkward makes me want to curl into the fetal position and suck my thumb.

Bottom line:  respect the invisible bubble I have around me.  Know that it's there.  Know how big the bubble is.  Don't close talk (for a number of reasons) and don't extend a hug.  I will flip out.

We good?

E-mail

Want me to read an e-mail from you?  Here's a hint.  If it has this in the subject line:

"Fw: fw: fw: fw:"

Chances are, I'm not going to read it.  Now, should you take out the 8,000 extra "fw's" then I might.  Usually, even one "fw" makes me not read it.

I'm just grouchy that way.

129

Cameron just told me that he loves me 129.  I'm not certain, but I think in Cameronese, that's a lot.

What a sweetheart.

Dear John

I saw the movie last night.  Here is my thought:

Dear Nicholas Sparks,

You suck.

The End.

Regretfully watched,
B

**He is the most predictable author I've ever read.  They are all the same.  Nothing original.  This is my solemn vow to you all - - I will never pick up a Nick Sparks book again.  Ever.  Well, unless I need something to start a fire with.  I liked The Notebook.  But that's really about it.  The rest are basically the same.  Go read this if you are bored.  Be ye warned - - this guy is NO fan of Nick Sparks and his language (quite colorful) proves it.  I found it extremely hilarious and spot on.**

Finally called my doctor...

Thank goodness he didn't ask me to come in and see him.  Antibiotics it is.

Today, by and far, has been the worst day of it.  I hope this gets better soon.

Mom's the Word June Article

This month's Mom's article. Enjoy.

I am SO stupid.

I knew better.  I knew that I shouldn't be out in the heat yesterday.  I knew not to go to the pool.  But I wanted my kids to have a fun day.  So we went.

And now?

Now I feel worse.  The chest stuff is breaking up.  (Thank you Mucinex D.)  But now my nose is stopped up,too.  (Thank you Afrin Severe Congestion.)  Still no fever.  But when I cough - - cheese and biscuits it sure hurts.

Why?  Why get this crap in the summer?  WHY?

We are staying inside in the air-conditioning today.  I'm sorry, kids.  Maybe tomorrow I'll feel better.  But for now, I am the mayor of Suckville.

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
