A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
- has a grandiose sense of self-importance - check
- is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love - check
- believes that he or she is "special" and unique - check
- requires excessive admiration - check
- has a sense of entitlement - check
- is interpersonally exploitative - check
- lacks empathy - check
- is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her - check
- shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes - check
Ugh.
I'm so glad that Mr. B is a man of integrity. And sane. And *nothing* like the above. I can't even imagine being around someone like this all of the time.
