Bill ClintonI was completely captivated by him. Seriously. Before you panic, the answer is no. I'm not voting for Hillary. Although, he pled quite a compelling case for her. His speech was not condescending whatsoever. I'd heard rumors that he was that way. I'd heard that he was quite defensive. I found him to be quite good. He rarely glanced at his notes. No teleprompter. I'm telling you this, I'd want him on my side. He really sang her praises. Either he is a really good liar or the man really loves his wife. But, he convinced me today that *he* feels she really is the best candidate for the job. He referred to her as an "Agent of Change." Not just someone without a plan. He outlined her blueprint for change. Beginning with, of course, the war in Iraq. No surprises there. He also discussed Health Care for every American, re-vamping the No Child Left Behind Act and options for our fuel crisis (keeping the $ in America.) He also poked fun at our voting system in Texas. It is quite wonky. He was - - quite charming. The man was the leader of the Free World. And I got to sit in an audience and hear him speak. That's what I got so worked up about. I told a reporter after his speech was over this:
"I am a Republican and I am here. Why? Because I have an intense
love for this country. I also have an incredible amount of respect for the
office which this man (President Clinton) held. I couldn't stay away today.
History was made. I wanted to see the President and hear what he had to say. It was my right. And when would I have this right ever again in my life?"
They asked me if my vote my have been swayed by his speech. I said no. But I told them that I still hung on every word he said. He fascinated me. He truly did. I'm so glad I went. So glad. I got there shortly after 10:00 in the morning and was finally seated about 12:15. The President didn't show up until 3:00. He was an hour and a half late. It was worth it though. Harry took these pics for me. I was on row 7. He was on the front row. Another guy there who was on the front row has promised me copies of his pictures. He had his nice camera with him. I'll bet he got some real good ones. I got home about 4:30. I am wiped out. It was a draining day. Time for bed.

My Aunt went to that as well. She is typically a negative person, but she was so positive about Mr. BC. She said most of the same things you did. Neat, that you were able to go and see him, regardless of your vote. Great picture too.
