Thanks for all of those comments suggesting those yummy, yet low-cal and kid-friendly meal suggestions. I can't wait to try them.

Hello? Is this thing still on? Not a single freakin' comment? I hope my family doesn't starve to death. No. They'll just die from boredom. Oh goody - - chicken and rice again. So - - today I made chicken and dumplin's. They were good. I saw a recipe on the Bisquick box that looked good. I may give it a whirl tomorrow night. I'm not going to tell you what it is though. So there. Maybe you'll comment next time. (Neener, neener. I'm sticking my tongue out at you. I fart in your general direction. - - Do you know what movie that latter part is from? Baby Bro will.)
The youngest of our brood is not fairing too well. His temp spiked at 104.4 today. I called the pediatrician's office *first* thing this morning and they couldn't even work him in today. We go Wednesday at 10:00. I can *hardly* wait to hang out in the pediatrician's office and expose us to more stuff. Good times. No - - great times.
That's all for now. I'm outta here.

Oh no!
I shouldn't have said it. Remember me talking about dodging the "puke bullet?" Well it found me. Just like a heat-seeking missile. It was Cam. His congestion got the better of him. I was sound asleep, after folding the laundry (yay me). I'd slept on the couch because the sound of the lambs screaming in my bedroom were not to be countered against.
At 3:30 this morning, he came and got me and told me he was dirty. That's the code talk for puke. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Luckily, I'd moved him to his bed and I only had him to mess with. I got him changed and his sheets. While I was changing him, I thought he felt a little warm. So - - I took his temp. Zoiks! 103.4. A little ibuprofen, some apple juice and back to bed.
Luckily, no more barfing. I'm certain it was the congestion. There was nearly more barfing when I was cleaning it up. I'm just sayin'. (**wretch**) I hate that. But - - I was a good wife. I didn't wake Husband up to clean it up. Even though that's the dealio we have. He works today, I don't. Do I score points for that?
In keeping with the lazy, stay at home mother stereotype, I must go. The Young and the Restless is on. Victoria is supposed to wake up today.
Ciao.

Still here.
I'm still here. I just don't have much to say. I have two loads of laundry I'm about to fold and a load drying right now. I *hate* it when I let the laundry back up. I need to step up my laundry game a little. Remember when I was so jazzed about laundry? About how I was going to stay on top of it, fold it right out of the dryer? Never take my washer for granted anymore? Crap. I want those days back. I don't want anything to break. I just want to get my act together. Now I just have to clean the crap off of my washer and dryer.
I'm going to be buying groceries Tuesday afternoon. I feel like I'm in a rut with our menus. I have Thursday night covered. (Husband's birthday. He requested chicken lasagna. Yummers.) I would like some low-cal, kid-friendly ideas for Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe even this weekend. We are supposed to go to San Antonio, but that may have just fallen through. I'll know more about that later. (Going to see Husband's fam. Now his sister is sick, so we might not go. We don't want the flu.) Anyway, I would like your ideas. Comment for me, would you? Keep in mind, I'm no gourmet. I like things simple. And I LOVE the crockpot. Come on, hook a sister up.
Okay, time to fold, then to bed. Maybe even within the hour. Wow. Unheard of. In bed by 1:00 a.m. That sounds crazy...

*yawn*
I'm trying to think of something good to post here. Nothing really good comes to mind.
I cheated on my diet tonight. Bad. We went to dinner with some friends and I've been *craving* anything with Alfredo sauce in it. Alfredo sauce it was. It wasn't Olive Garden good, but it was good. I guess I'll be doing the two slim fast meals tomorrow and a sensible dinner.
I'll be right back.
*break in blogging here*
That was Cam. (Yes, it's 12:25 and he is still awake. It seems that Parent's Night Out didn't wear him out at all.) He came into the living room with just his pj top on. I had to remedy that before the steam cleaner was necessary. This has become a common occurrence for him. His diaper gets the slightest bit wet and he rips it off. He likes the nakey part of things. I, however, don't like seeing it. He'll climb into bed with us early in the morning and it's more, "Hello, Nakey." Yes, that boy needs to be potty trained.
*another break in blogging here*
Oh no. This did *not* just happen to me. To squeamish me. While Husband is asleep. This - - you aren't going to believe. You know how Justin liked sticking things in his ears when he was younger? Cam seems to have an oral fixation. In other words, he sticks things in his mouth. He also licks stuff. But that's another story for another day. As I'm typing the "nakey" stuff, I hear coughing. I dismissed it. I have a cough and thought one of the boys had caught my bug and were starting that phase of it. Oh no. Cam comes back in here and starts saying, "dirty, dirty, dirty" and pointing to his shirt. This meant he puked. There wasn't much on his shirt, so I ushered him to the kitchen to tidy him up. I made him wait there while I went to the bedroom (where Justin was still sleeping) to assess the damage. I couldn't see anything. Whew. Then, I saw the sock. A wadded up sock, with "stuff" all over it.
I know. G-ross. This is how I figure it went down. I gave him his socks earlier to put on by himself. I had no idea he'd try to suck on them. It appeared as though he'd crammed the whole thing in his mouth and he was actually choking on it when I heard him coughing. I know what you are thinking. Same as me. Holy crap. Does this stuff really happen? Yes it does. It just did. Live. Right here, my kid tried to suck on a sock and it dang near killed him. Big dork.
Who sucks on socks? I guess it's the same kid who licks the couch. And runs around "nakey."
And I had nothing to say earlier. I jinxed myself.

Damaged hair - - just how I like it.
I got my hair highlighted today. Ahhhh... Much better. When my highlights start growing out (you know, the fried part of my hair) and the healthy hair comes through - - it just won't style. It's limp as a dish rag. I hate it. I can't do diddly with it. I walked into the salon today and told her to damage my hair. Pronto. She laughed. I am happy to report that she used a 40 volume on me and it took no time at all to strip the dark brown from my hair and I have some blonde highlights again. Lots of them. Now all I need is a nice tan and to drop a few more of these pounds.
The kids had school today. Justin will likely have a delayed start tomorrow. I have an idea. He's only four. And in the three year old preschool class because of his birthday. So - - let's skip. Shall we? I don't want to get out. He won't care. Woo hoo. It will be a jammie day. I'll make them some eggs, make me a huge pot of coffee. We'll have us a tickle fight. Maybe play a little hide and seek. Yes. That is what we shall do. No school tomorrow. It has officially been declared by Justin's limo driver. He shall stay home.
I dodged a serious puke bullet today. I was in Wally World heading to the front door to check out. That's when I saw him. This kid was following his parents and he was doing the dry heave thing. The parents had no clue. I didn't feel too inclined to stick around and make sure they found out. I was sure they would find out soon enough on their own. They did not need his puke intertwined with my puke. So - - I hauled myself, at a pace I didn't know I was capable of inside that store, to the checkout stand. I let the checker ring my groceries up and I got the heck out of dodge. As soon as I got in my car, I practically dove head first into my anti-bacterial stuff that was in my console. I swam in it for a few minutes. Ugh. The pukes. Please God, please don't let them invade my house again. Please!!!!
The Spurs pulled off two fabulous wins in two days now. Wow. They've been nail biters to watch. Especially that one tonight. Yikes. Go Spurs, Go!!
I really need to go to bed. I still need to zip over to Husband's computer and get some music off of his and put it onto my mp3 player before I call it a day. I'm in a classical mood tonight. I don't think I have much of that on mine. That's about to change.
With that said - - I'm outta here. It's been real.
Smooches.

Doing it Cam's way.
Why do I even ask him? Not just once, but several times. This is how it went down at lunch today.
I try to limit the boys' fast food consumption to once a week. Maybe twice. Usually once. Today was their lucky day. Justin decided not to stay for extended care at preschool today. I let him have that option on Mondays and Wednesdays. This morning, he opted out. So, I decided this would be a good fast food day for them.
I asked them if they wanted chicken nuggets from Mickey D's. Usually they do. Today, no. Justin said he'd rather have his french fries from Hamburger King. That would be BK to you and me. But you figured that out, right? Okay. (Even better than Micky D's. I'm not tempted by BK's food at all.) Giddyup.
We hit the drive-thru. I asked Justin what he wanted. A hamburger. No pickles, no ketsup. Got it.
Cam - - not so easy. Here's how my conversation went with him:
Me: Cam, what do you want? Chicken nuggets or a hamburger?
Cam: French fries.
Me: You'll get french fries with one or the other. Which one do you want?
Cam: French fries.
Me: Okay, you can have french fries. Do you want chicken nuggets or a hamburger with your french fries?
Cam: French fries.
Me: (speaking slowly and clearly) CHICKEN NUGGETS or a HAMBURGER?
Cam: French fries.
Me: Okay, a cheeseburger it is.
Why did I keep asking him? Why was I so delusional to think that he might actually tell me what he wanted? I know he wanted french fries. I'm convinced the little dude dreams about french fries. But has he *not* figured out yet that he gets something else, too? His main entree? What a pain.

Chest Congestion
I'm not liking this. Not one little bit. Coughing stuff up. The pain. The constant clearing of my throat. Nope. I don't like it at all.
And the forecast - - I don't like that either. My forecast: I predict that school will either be cancelled or start late tomorrow. Neither of which are acceptable to me. Great. Just - - great.
I'm going to go continue to feel sorry for myself.

Attention Viagra
We have things under control. You can stop sending me e-mails. Besides, I don't qualify to take your little blue pill.
Fat Girl Scared
Be afraid. Be very, very scared of this. You might gain pounds just from looking.

It's a very addictive site. Go poke around there and tell me that it a.) doesn't make you hungry, b.) doesn't make you feel like you could just dominate your kitchen, and c.) make you know you could wow others with your cooking prowess. I promise you, you will want to find the Pioneer Woman in yourself.
Now go. Go retrieve those simple ingredients from your pantry. Cook a fabulous meal for your family. Accept the compliments. Bask in the glory.
I am a Pioneer Woman. You are Pioneer Woman. Let us roar!!

Yucky Weather
It's gross outside. Just plain gross. Today is one of those days where I envy my brother. Island living. *sigh* It's 32 degrees with fog/mist here. Blech. It's 50 degrees warmer there. Wow. Prediction - - the roads will be yucky in the morning. Great. Just - - great. People in this neck of the woods don't know how to drive on slick stuff.
I had an encounter with a yucky man today. I was leaving - - get this - - the *CHRISTIAN* bookstore and held the door open for a man, probably 60. A smiled and made eye contact while doing it. Not a word. Not a smile. Nothing. Did I owe him? What???? Was I the subservient female, he the wonderful male and I was just fulfilling some sort of submissive role? Was I respecting an elder? Were these some of his thoughts? Doesn't matter. He was rude. A kind smile would have made my deed worth while. A smile and a thanks - - even better. I guarantee - - if I'd let that door close on him, he would have said something, or made eye contact then. He was "a not nice man" and I hope he recognized his act of rudeness. You mean boy.
The softer side of Cam - - did you know there was one? The fella has a specific preference with his pillow cases. Very specific. They have to be made from t-shirt material. I went into Bed, Bath and Beyond today looking for some. I was about to give up when I saw them on clearance at the front of the store. I hope they aren't getting rid of them. They were 50% off. Good for me, but that could mean bad news for him. I bought he and I each one package. (I like them, too. That's how he discovered them.) Let's hope they last.
The J-Man has discovered the Ninja Turtles. You remember? The ones of the Teenage Mutant variety. He loves them. Movies and X-box games. What a funny guy. He was a good boy at school today.
Okay. That's all.

Just - - stuff.
Okay, here's an update about my "goings on." I'm even going to throw in a few movie reviews.
My biggest news: The drawings were today for teams for the Survivor pool. Guess who's name got drawn for me? That's right baby - - it's me and the Gravedigger again. JAMES!!! How lucky am I? I'm not sure how he'll fare in the season. I'm certain he'll have a HUGE target on his back. I'm still quite psyched about rooting for him again. *swoon*
Our hot water heater is breaking. Again. A part is going out on it. It will heat, it just takes forever to do it. It did not go so well when Husband put it in last time. We think the company that made it is involved in a class action law suit because of a defective part. We understand they don't make the part we need anymore and Whirlpool should replace our entire water heater. That freakin' better include a service call. I'm *not* looking forward to going through that again.
Oh, oh - - we finally found a dining room table and some end tables for the living room. We ordered them Saturday. Finally. Husband found them, asked me to go look at them (I would have approved just about anything) and we ordered them. I even negotiated the price with them. I wasn't very good at it. I don't feel comfortable doing it at all, but Husband told me to give it a whirl. I did. The result was 10% off. Not much, but better than nothing. They should be delivered around the end of the month. No more card table in the kitchen and t.v. trays in the living room. Now if I could just find some drapes...
Movies. I've seen several in the last week. Older ones. New to me though. The best one I saw was The Rock. I can't believe I'd never seen that before. Fantastic movie. I love me some Sean Connery. Husband and I watched Oceans 13 last night. It wasn't as good as 11 but it was better than 12. Good movie. They were back in Vegas, I liked that. We also watched Good Luck Chuck. It had my boy Dane Cook in it. It was pretty funny. Predictable, but cute. I'm glad we saw it at home. It had some crazy sex stuff in it. I know why Dane liked filming it. Last week I watched the mini-series Comanche Moon. It was the prequel to Lonesome Dove. I enjoyed it a lot. They still left some holes though. I would like to have had one more night with it. Still good though.
My weight loss - - not a good week. I gained .4 pounds. I'm not surprised. Actually, I'm glad that's all it was. I was afraid with being sick the week before, my weight loss last Sunday probably wasn't a very accurate representation of where I really am. I feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be. Total weight loss after two weeks - - six pounds. Even. I'm happy with that. I just have to look forward from here and work hard. I need to get this jiggly booty out on the street and get to walking. I hate exercise.
That's all for now. I'm in bed and watching Grease. Husband fell asleep on the couch. I've got this big, comfy bed all to myself. Ahhhh.....
