Today's Subject - Blogger's Choice, Sheer Randomness
And today, I choose observations from Wal-Mart. Why? Because I was just there. The kiddos started Sonshine Camp today. And since I'd rather have a root canal than to go to any grocery store with children, I waited until I dropped mine off before I went. Here are some things I observed:
1. I *totally* discovered a new sport for the senior Olympics. Pairs Cart Driving. Seriously, are these people checked out on this equipment before they are allowed to just take off in them? I have personally witnessed my own mother nearly take down a display with one before. And I've watched her make people jump for their lives, too. I've also told her that I'd *never* go to the store with her again while she drives one of those things. Did you know that they beep when you put them in reverse? I *know* I turned eight shades of red that day. But today - - I saw an elderly couple. Each with their own scooter. And neither of them knew where they were going or what they were doing. They weren't so old that I felt sorry for them. So don't think I'm "old people bashing." I don't do that. As a matter of fact, they seemed kind of young to be on the carts. I think they were rookies. They were cart newbies. It was quite hilarious to watch them do the "ballet" down the aisle and stay together. She turned early. He didn't. He had to turn around. It was a hoot. So - -Pairs Cart Driving. You heard it here first, folks.
2. And I'll stop after this one, because this one makes my blood boil. Heelies. You know - - those shoes that turn into skates. Oh. My. Gosh. I. Hate. Them. I seriously wanted to go to the garden department, get a water hose and stretch it across the aisle and trip a skate/walker. And now that school is out, there is not a safe time to go to the store when you can avoid Heelies. Why do I hate them so? I don't know. I just do. There's just something inside me that wants to trip them. I know. That sounds evil. It sounds mean. And it is. I can't help it. I can't stand these kids. I'm not even going to apologize to you if your kid wears them. I don't care. These kids are out of control and should be stopped. Period. I could go on and on. But I won't. And you won't find an argument in favor of them with me. They are not cool. I also think they are unsafe. Helmets? Knee pads? Oh wait, I said I wouldn't go on. I'll stop now. I think you get my point. I think Heelies suck.
