Good news, bad news.

The bad news is that we didn't plan far enough ahead and don't have a spot to camp in this weekend. *insert sad face* I was looking very forward to an extended camping weekend. Bummer.

The good news is that our choice spot is available next weekend. So - - we camp then instead. *insert happy face*

I'll take what I can get.

I've been looking at reservation sites *all* day. It appears that Labor Day is the weekend to camp.

You may carry on with your day now.

You said you wouldn't look here anymore...

...yet I see you still are. Worried?

(The person I'm addressing this to knows exactly who she is.)

Green Smiles

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the system. Green is good, yellow is a warning and red is bad. Ms. S also has blue. That means either you were sick or had a bad day emotionally. I told Justin that if he got green smiles all week in his behavior folder, then I'd spring for ice cream on Friday. Guess what!!!! We have four green smiles in our folder! Woo hoo!!!!! So, tomorrow, he gets to take a dollar to school to get ice cream after his lunch.

Way to go Little Man. I'm so proud of you!!!!

Fifteen Minute Cleaning Challenge!

Bring it, girls. If you are home. If you want to count your office or checking off a "to-do" list at work, go for it. See how much you can get done in the next fifteen minutes. Come back here and comment what you got done. Be ready, I'm going to take a few of these challenges today.

Ready?

Go!

Good Morning!!!

It's 8:15. I'm dressed, I have make-up on, my kids have been fed, Justin has been at school for 45 minutes and the coffee is on.

I can see where I have the potential to get lots done. I didn't realize how lazy I was before school started. I really led a rotten life. Reality has hit the House of B. And so far, I'm okay with it.

Now - - to the coffee pot.

He did it!!!

It's official. We have a Kindergartner in our house. This was the only picture we had time for at the house this morning.

Isn't he adorable?

We are all exhausted. It's bedtime for them. I don't think we will have as much trouble getting everyone to fall asleep tonight. That is including, but not limited to, me. I'm about to head to the shower, lay out Justin's clothes for tomorrow, sit in bed and fill out some paperwork and then crash. I plan on being in a REM cycle by 9:00.

Oh, just heard an announcement from the kid's bedroom. Apparently, Justin is officially quitting Kindergarten. We have a potential drop-out situation upon us. I think going to bed when it's not "night" is not working out too well for him. We need some darkening shades. Stat.

Here goes nothing...

Ambien.

*eyeroll*

The mind is a very powerful thing. It basically said, "Screw you Ambien." I didn't sleep worth a flip last night. I ended up in bed with Justin. He was a little bundle of nerves. He didn't fall asleep until a little past 11:00. He was in bed at 7:00. He tossed and turned all night. As did I. I've been awake since 5:30. 5:30. Really? The last time I saw this hour was maybe going to bed at it. This is early. It is *way* early. I can't believe I have to do this five days a week now. I have been so spoiled.

Well, time to start breakfast and wake this house up. It's a shame. It's so peaceful and quiet in here. Justin cried and cried in bed last night. He asked me if I could stay with him today. He asked me if we could just wait one more day. He told me he'd miss me. Things that broke my heart. I hope he was just tired. I'm hoping he wakes up excited and ready to start this new phase of his life.

Feeling the sting of the tears,
B

One More Sleep

Only one more sleep until Kindergarten starts! I can't believe it is finally here. Here are some pictures of the shopping and events that have led up to the big day tomorrow.

Here are his school supplies. I was so proud of him. I let him pick things up off of the shelves himself. When he wanted things to match, I was giddy with excitement. Orange was his color of choice. Yay!!!

Here is the altered paint can I told you about.

This is the back of the can.

These are the "goodies" inside the can. Dry erase markers, Crystal Light singles, Germ-X, Tylenol, moist wipes and some cute post-it notes.

Here is Justin at the Barber Shop getting his hair shaped up. No more buzz. He actually has a tiny bit of length on the top.

Headed into the school to meet the teacher and drop off his school supplies.

Meet Ms. S. Isn't she adorable? Justin seemed to like her. Her room was decorated so cute. She interacted with the children so well. She is new to the district, but not new to teaching. I'm excited about this school year. She made me *want* to help out. She was pretty jazzed about the gift. (How could she not be? It was dang cute if I say so myself!!!)

I'm going to iron clothes tonight. I simply cannot believe this day has arrived. It just doesn't seem right. Where did the time go?

To my peeps that are "handling me" at lunch tomorrow: thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. I have the BEST friends.

I'll post pictures of the big day sometime tomorrow. Say a prayer for us and wish us luck!!!

Here I am...

Have you guys been afraid that I'm lost? I'm not. Just busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest. (Does playing poker online for hours on end count?)

I really don't have anything of substance to report. Nothing. We go to meet the teacher tomorrow. Justin is pretty jazzed about that. I've made his gift for her. I just need to add her name to it. I might do that in a bit. I'll take a picture or two then.

I'm going to get my nails done in a few. Then to Wally World for a few necessities. After that, I'm home for the day. Bunco is at my house tonight. Kim has a sick kiddo. So she's hosting at my house. Luckily, I only need to run the vacuum and mop the kitchen. I'd have done that today anyway. Did I tell you guys that I completely cleaned up my scrap space? It looks MUCH better. So neat and organized. *smile* I love it when it's like this. I also cleaned out my dresser and my closet. Yay!

I better go.

*smooches*

(I apologize for the most boring post ever.)

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
