So - - it begins.
I am proud to say that I have already made my bed, fixed school lunches and fed breakfast to both kids. (To those of you with school aged kids, I know this is no major feat. For me - - this is monumental. The mister checked to see if I had fever.)
Now, I must go shower myself and maintain my momentum.
*thinks to myself*
Wow, a proper night's sleep does wonders. Must put that one in my play book for future reference.

BFF's
Nothing like a word from the Father, direct to my inbox today. Whew. Thank you, Lord.
BFF
Susanne Scheppmann
“But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24b (NIV)
Devotion:
Do you know what BFF means? Neither did I. However, I discovered that BFF is something that we all long for and need in our lives. Here’s how I learned the meaning for the acronym BFF.
Recently, I spoke at a conference in California where a beautiful young woman worked the soundboard. I was desperate to have all the sessions recorded, so I could produce a good quality promotional CD. Although I try to record myself on a small digital recorder, it seems something always happens. The battery goes dead. The microphone doesn’t work. Or more than likely, I forget to turn on the recorder. So as I said, I was desperate.
But this sweet servant of the Lord smiled at me, crossed her fingers tightly in front of my face, and said, “I will be your BFF this weekend.” A blank looked must have crossed, because she grinned and translated: “best friend forever.”
Do you remember in grade school when your BFF was whoever you happened to be playing with in the sandbox on that day? Do you remember in high school when your BFF was the girl who could be trusted to know about your crush on a certain, cute boy? Do you remember at your wedding when your BFF stood beside you in a bride’s maid dress? Do you know where all those women are today that you once deemed your “best friend forever?” Me neither.
As I pondered the phrase, “best friend forever,” I realized whom it most appropriately applies to: Jesus. We can always know where He is – He is right by our side daily! The bible describes Jesus as a friend who sticks closer to us than a brother does. He wants us to believe Him and to walk beside Him. Just as with any friendship, time must be spent to build an intimate relationship. We make time to go to lunch, coffee, or shopping with our girlfriends. Do we make time for Jesus in our day-to-day life? Do we deem Him our BFF? Or is He just a friend on Sunday mornings when we attend church?
Let’s decide today to concentrate on our relationship with Jesus. Let’s make time to spend with Him on a one-to-one basis. Grab a cup of coffee and have your devotional in a quiet place. Make time to develop your relationship with Jesus. He’s the best Friend you will ever find!
Dear Lord, I want You to be my Best Friend Forever. Remind me each day to spend time with You and to develop my friendship with You. I thank You and praise You, for You are a friend that is closer than a brother. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

It's stuff like this...
Baby Bro once commented that he noticed Cam caught a lot of grief on here. It's true. He catches a lot of grief on here. I believe it has a lot to do with incidents like this:

That's right. That's his tennis shoe. His tennis shoe that he's owned for less than a month. In the pitcher of gatorade that was less than an hour old. That's sitting in my kitchen floor. Notice the gatorade on the floor? That happens when you continually dunk a shoe in the full pitcher. In and out. In and out. I wasn't a physics major or anything. But I could figure that one out. The submerged shoe caused the overflow of the freshly made gatorade to spill over the sides and all over my clean floor. Have you ever made gatorade? It's sugary and sticky.
To say that I wasn't happy would be a gross understatement. I had been in the shower. I was trying to get ready for church. (This happened Wednesday afternoon.) After the proper discipline - - and there was some - - I got the floormate out and sucked up that vile poison from my tile.
Who dunks their shoe in the gatorade pitcher? Why? His socks were underneath his shoe. His other shoe had already been sufficiently dunked as well. Boys. Curious little boys. I said I didn't want to mess with little girl hair. So this is what I get. I gave up sensitivity for insanity.
So, Baby Bro, when you want to know why I give The Cam Man a little grief - - it's stuff like this. It's the Terrible Two's. He's unleashed his monster within and he's coming after his mommy.
The Cat is Out of the Bag
Yep - - my LSS is closing. I've known about it for a week and had to keep a lid on it.
Believe it or not - - I've lost sleep over this. I have met some of the most wonderful friends in my life at that place. Some friends who have seen me through some really hard times. To see it end, to see the store close - - it's like losing a piece of me.
*sigh*
It doesn't make it right, but perhaps it helps to explain any extra bits of being pissy on my part. Sometimes life isn't fair.
This, too, shall pass.
**Edited to add - - Baby Bro won't have a clue what LSS is. It is Local Scrapbook Store.

Single White Female
In an effort to snatch myself from the fiery jaws of a crappy mood, I did a little research and found this post about stalkers. Enjoy...
Single White Female?
During some recent browsing and surfing, I happened across a couple of blogs discussing the concept of having a "blog stalker". Apparently a blog stalker is a person who reads without commenting, usually a person unknown to the blogger. The blogger sees the visitor in their traffic stats and feels uneasy. "Who is that person from *insert location that shows in stats* who logs onto my blog 10 times a day, reads it more than I do and never says "hello"??"
I think it's a bit melodramatic to label a blog visitor a stalker just because the blogger doesn't know who they are. If I wanted privacy I could blog in a social networking site and set my profile to private, only having people I know on my contacts list. I choose to publish a public blog and so I'm going to get readers - and reader is the word I use to define the people who turn up in my traffic stats whether they are regulars, commenter's or random one topic visitors.
I suppose it's possible someone might develop an obsession with reading a person's blog, and it is the risk one takes putting oneself "out there", but I'm not one for choosing to live in fear of another's potential bad behaviour. I tend to cross bridges when I come to them, rather than get my journey knotted up by imagining bridges that may never materialise. I thank my stars I'll never have to deal with the likes of John Cusack and Samantha Morton's alleged stalkers.
It is a wee bit fascinating to contemplate why a person moves into that kind of attachment towards another and, in trying to get control of someone else, loses total control of themselves. They seem to get lost in the fantasy world and forget to step out - perhaps they ran out of string or forgot to leave a trail of breadcrumbs, and their fantasy develops into a darker attachment and in the worst cases begins to impact the life of someone else.
I'm all for fantasy. I think fantasy is just a natural part of the human brain and it's part of the creative process. I think it's perfectly acceptable to brighten a dour day with a mind-meandering into something outrageous or unlikely. I confess to an intrepid past including being the middle ingredient of a Sixx and Lee sandwich, a whirlwind tour of the seven seas as Captain Jack's better half and the more than occasional adventure in the arms of the sexiest (famous) man alive, Ray Winstone. I think it's healthy. I think it's creative. It's definitely fun.
So readers unless you have some sort of ill intent towards me, or an inability to detach from the world of fantasy, I will not worry that you read and don't comment and I won't use the word stalker to define you...
Now tell me that wasn't funny. And yes, I have tracking software on here. Yes, I know some of you hit this site *several* times a day. And never comment. It makes me laugh. Are you guys in love with me or just bored out of your mind? *giggle* You're in love with me, aren't you? I knew it. I'm a little in love with myself, too. I'm a pretty dang good catch. Remember? I'm a trophy wife.

*Sigh*
I'll say this. I'm sick of the double standards. I feel isolated and alone. I feel it in a place I shouldn't feel it. I feel bitterness creeping into my heart. I question my usefulness and even my own desire to serve at all. Don't get me wrong. My faith in Him is strong. But my heart is heavy. It hurts. Before the lectures start, I know. Don't run. I know. I know! I find every excuse under the sun not to go. And that's just sad. My spirit aches. And desperately needs to be fed.
My heart also aches. Bad. I can't even tell you how many of my girlfriends' marriages are in jeopardy. Serious trouble. *sigh* Hang in there, girls. Let our Heavenly Father carry you through this. Rest in His comfort and His grace. *Know* that He loves you even when you feel unlovable or can't find it in you to love much.
Well, I broke my promise. I said I would keep things light-hearted on here. Oops! :p Just keepin' it real.

Bummed
Ugh. Procrastination bit me in the butt. Again. It wasn't entirely my fault this time. It was partly the Mister's fault. We were planning on going camping this weekend. That was the plan. We were a little hesitant because of the weather. But it looked like it would be nice, so yes. Let's do it. He just needed to check on the camper and make sure it was okay. He hasn't been out to where we store it since the last time we camped. Last year. Months ago. I needed his "go ahead" before I made the reservations. No hurry right? From looking online, there were still spots left at our favorite campground. He finally went by the storage room last night and gave me the green light to make the reservation. I got online this morning and it was too late to make the reservation online. So I called the reservation center. They said the only sites left were the "first come, first served" spots. (We are *not* going to drive that far and risk not getting a spot. That would suck. Suck!) As luck would have it, I could make a reservation for Monday. What? Monday? Lady, are you at all familiar with how this weekend camping thing works? No thanks.
So, we won't be camping this weekend after all. Well, the boys might. The Mister might take each boy, one at a time, by themselves, to our local state park (yippee) and camp there. Good times. I'm not that excited to camp. The boys would enjoy it. I think. Mister B is going to go scope it out tonight.
I went ahead and made our reservations for the third weekend in May while I was online earlier. I was able to snag our favorite spot. Planning ahead. What a novel idea.
I'm going to go sulk now.

Stuff
Okay, here.
Then I stopped in Dublin at the Dr. Pepper place. I don't even really fancy the beverage that much and wasn't that thirsty. But - - I was there. And wanted to see it. So I went inside the store and bought the Mister a t-shirt.
I then went through Comanche to Granna's house. Granna was married to my Grandfather. She has been pretty sick. She had been in the hospital but had been dismissed. So I went by her house to see her. We had a brief visit. It makes me sad to see her sick. To be honest, I think my Grandfather's death literally broke her heart. *sniffle*

Somewhere on the way home from there, I can't remember where exactly, there is a wildlife ranch. I've seen it several times before and wanted to stop for pictures, but the Mister never wanted to. Guess what? I was driving and I was in charge.

I. Can't. Stop. Yawning. My weekend is finally catching up with me. I went to bed at 3:30 Sunday morning and got up around 9:30. Then it took me all day to drive home. Why? I had about a gazillion stops to make. Well, not really that many. But several. I took the scenic route home. The interstate had a lot of construction and let's just face it - - it isn't pretty. I was alone for the ride home (yay - - I love to travel alone) and wasn't too concerned about "making good time." Plus, some of the stops I needed to make required me to "go the back way."
First I stopped at a roadside park north of Stephenville and took some pictures of some bluebonnets. Pretty, huh? I was thrilled to have found some.
On to Brownwood. Since I was there, I went by the cemetery to see where my grandparents were buried. I hadn't been since the funeral last year and wanted to see the headstone and foot stone. *more sniffles* I really, really miss all of my grandparents.
In Brownwood I stopped at Taco Bueno. Oh how I wish we had one of those here. I have a particular fondness for the Party Burrito. Muy Bueno. And the Cinnamon Chips. Yummers. Plus, they had a functioning potty. Mucho necessito at this juncture.
On the road again. (Willie Nelson style.) Because - - what I haven't mentioned was that on my trip, I bought a new hat. At Cracker Barrel of all places. It was 70% off. And pink. Pale pink. D said it looks very Whiskey Tango. (aka - - White Trash) I love it. I put it on in Brownwood when I got back in the car. I feel some attitude when I wear it. Don't I look cute? (Yes, I took my own picture. I'm *that* good.) I was getting tired and needed to wake up. So - - on with the hat and the attitude.
Somewhere on the way home from there, I can't remember where exactly, there is a wildlife ranch. I've seen it several times before and wanted to stop for pictures, but the Mister never wanted to. Guess what? I was driving and I was in charge.
Zebras in West Texas. Who'da thunk?
While stopped, Judy and Selena went flying by. They turned around and came back and Selena took pictures with me. They said they recognized that "pink hat." *snort*
On the road again.
My last stop was at the hospital. Not for me. For my Mom. She has cellulitis and was hospitalized while I was on my way home. So, I stopped in to see her.
It was great to be home. I think everyone was happy to see me. They acted like it anyway.
I'm off to fold clothes. (Someone forgot to page the laundry fairy for me while I was gone. Humph...)
*yawn*
Tired.
So tired.
Must have coffee.
I had a blasty, blast. Good times. No - - GREAT times.
I will update later. But first, I must go police the child and his guest. I'm hearing toys being dumped out. That does *not* take me to a happy place this Monday morning. I was not planning on entertaining today. But when asked to - - I could not say no. My neighbor is not feeling well and you know me - - I'm nice that way!! (Or is it that I have "Sucker" tattooed to my forehead?)
Smooches. Tired smooches.
