Mr. B and a .357

Just random stuff.

The last few days have consisted of a lot of laying around and watching television. Other times, I just lay there and listen to my kids playing. Here are some random observations:

~ Live television stinks. I bow to thee, my DVR. Thank you for making my life commercial free. For the most part.

~ There's nothing like hearing your kids slay dinosaurs that have invaded their room. I really feel sorry for those dinosaurs. They got their butts kicked a while ago.

~ I laughed my bootie off a few minutes ago when I heard me oldest tell my youngest, "You have FIVE minutes to clean this room up." To which my youngest replied, "Ummmmmm...no."

~ I couldn't even watch the fourth quarter of the Spurs game last night. That was brutal.

~ Do you know of anyone who has ever gone down to their local television station to review their children programming reports? Do you suppose anyone ever does this? I think it would be a hoot to do it with my husband sometime. Only, I'm going to refer to my husband as my legal counsel. That cracks me up just thinking about it, as I review their notes and scribble some of my own. If only I had that kind of time to kill.

~ Tamiflu may be lessening my flu symptoms, but it is wreaking havoc on my tummy. Even taking it with food. Ouchie.

~ The most listened to song on my iPod is Uninvited by Alanis Morisette. Kind of dark. I think it matches my recent mood.

~ It is not appropriate, at all, to laugh at my three year old when his Lego set falls apart. He told me so. It's not funny. (I beg to differ.)

~ I really liked the movie "The Other Boleyn Girl" the first time I saw it. Not so much the second time. The Tudors, series on Showtime, has ruined it for me. I like it *much* better. I'm anxiously awaiting Season Three's start.

~ My kids, doing the limbo, with my kitchen broom, is just hilarious.

~ Really good friends are an awesome thing to have. Thanks to those of you who checked up on me this week and who have helped shuffle the kids around. Even to my friend who went out and bought a new thermometer for me. (How have I existed SO long without an ear thermometer? That thing is way cool!)

~ A great husband is nothing to take for granted. He has been a life saver this week. I really, really, REALLY love him a little more every day.

~ Right now, I'm jealous of him. He is going out to the gun club to fire handguns. I think that's hot. He needs to blow off some steam and get out of here. I don't blame him. (I'm embracing my inner Sarah Palin. Sorry Yoda and Oph!)

~ Facebook is such a cool way to keep up with friends. From all over the world.

I think that's enough. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

Crap!

I have fever again.

Random Cell Phone Picture of the Week

Moe.
My baby.

He took good care of me this week.
He was just as wiped out as I was.
Oh wait, he always sleeps this much.

I think I may live!

I want to be careful and not get the cart before the horse. But - - I think I may survive this flu thing. My temperature was 99.2 this morning. It went up a little and then down. I'm feeling much better. Just really, really tired. I even showered, did my hair and put make up on today. Woo hoo! Then I stripped the sheets and bedspread off and laundered them. Maybe Mr. B will come back to bed tonight. He's pretty leery of the cooties, so I'm not sure. I won't lie, the snore free nights were nice. Very nice. But truth be told, I missed him. (I know, gross.)

Tonight is Parent's Night Out at church. It's going to be PN in for us. I don't feel much like eating out. The kids are already signed up, so we are going to come back home and watch the Spurs game on ESPN. It should be nice to watch it without the arguments of two preschoolers in the background. Yay!

I have lots to do still to prepare for my trip. I'll start on that tomorrow. I think.

I hope everyone has had a great week. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Please keep 'em coming.

*smooches*

A question...

How *do* you solve a problem like Maria?

99.9 and Tamiflu

I just took my first dose.

That is all.

More of the same.

Just when I think I'm feeling a touch better, I hit a wall. Fever is back up again.

Crap.

Last night sucked. It just plain sucked. I woke up at 2:30 and was freezing my arse off. I got up to retrieve the Tylenol. I thought my teeth were going to break at their current chatter rate.

I called the doctor yesterday, they were off for the afternoon. I called back this morning. His nurse told me it was in his list of things to review. Ugh. Why am I not his top priority this morning? What - - do other sick people think they are more sick than me? Please. Hurry with that Tamiflu prescription before it won't work.

*whimper*

I know - - I'm the worst sick patient ever. Ever.

I'm dying.

I'm quite certain I have the flu. It hit me this afternoon like a ton of bricks.

Fever, body aches, chills, very tired, extreme headache...

Somebody shoot me. Please.

I'm *so* glad I got that flu shot.

Please pray for my husband and kids. I don't want them to get this. It feels terrible.

Just a guess...

...what tonight's Presidential address will consist of:

The state of the union sucks.

It's all the previous administration's fault.

If you've been successful in life, that's not fair. You should share.

We're going to cut the deficit in half.

Standing ovations out the wazoo.

Change.

Blah, blah, blah.

There, I just saved you a couple hours of your life.

Brownies!!!

Cameron went with me to the grocery store today. He absolutely begged for some brownies. Who am I to say no to brownies?

To stop him from crying about something later on, I asked him if he wanted to help me make them.

"Sure!!"

Here he is helping. This was really all he was interested in participating in. The licking of the beater. I think he liked it. What do you think?

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
