Movie Score

I acquired a new movie score today.  Well, new to me.  I've wanted this one for a LONG time.  And today - - I finally got it.

It is Unfaithful.  The music from this movie is just beautiful.  I've listened to the whole thing once already.  I predict it will be my bedtime music as well.  As dark as this movie was - - you know, the unfaithfulness - - I find this music quite soothing.  I was in kind of a dark place today and this music has been incredibly comforting.  Weird, I know.

Hi

Once again.  Busy, busy, busy.

Friday night, I got to go to a crop.  I got five pages done!!!  I'm usually lucky to get one done.  I was in the zone.  It felt great.  If I weren't too lazy, I'd scan them.  I'll see if the mister can make sure that's all working.  If that's the case - - I'll do it.

Saturday we cleaned house.  We had to prepare for a Superbowl gathering on Sunday.  It was fun.  Instead of doing a meal this year, we did snack foods.  It was yummo!  Mr. B made bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos and spinach dip.  I made queso and tortilla cream cheese pinwheels.  I ordered a cupcake birthday cake for Mr. B and his friend.  His friend got sick and couldn't come.  :(  Boo.  We took a picture of the cake and sent it to him.  I didn't cheer for an individual team.  I kept working the score.  I needed my numbers to come up and pay off.  Alas, my $20 went to someone else who likely got paid well.  Good for them.  I had fun working the numbers in my head.  When I could remember what they were.

This morning I went to the doctor for my pre-op clearance.  It was kind of cool.  He walked in the exam room and said, "Well, well, it's the aspiring writer!"  He complimented me on our group's column.  He said how much he enjoyed reading them.  Cool.  By the way, I was all-cleared for the surgery.  I went and got my nails done.  They look beautiful.  Then I went and bought a shirt for Justin.  Tomorrow night is Mother/Son date night.  (Not "date" according to Justin.  "Special" night.)  I'm not over-dressing him for the event.  I understand that the little boys are well-known for "getting jiggy wit it" and the spend a lot of time on the floor.  So, blue jeans and a cute shirt for him.  I'll post a picture of us either late tomorrow night or Wednesday morning.

Wednesday, I get my hair cut and then I'm scheduled for my surgery at 3:00.  I have to be at the hospital at 1:00.  I am "NPO" after midnight Tuesday night=====================.  Sorry.  That was Moe.  He thought my conversation was dull so he walked across my keyboard.  Anyway, no food or water or anything until after my surgery on Wednesday.  Which will make Wednesday a long day.  I can handle the no food thing fine.  But nothing to drink.  Me no likey.  Walking with a limp is worse though.  And the pain in my foot.  Hopefully I'll be good to go before too long.  :D

Then Thursday - - SURVIVOR!!!!!  Woo hoo.  I get my Colby and James back.  Ahhhhhh.  And - - admittedly, Boston Rob.  I am totally a Boston Rob fan.  I hope I still like him.  I am NOT looking forward to Coach.  At all.

Not much else.  Sorry for the epic, lame post.

Have a great Monday.  I'm looking forward to some Dr. House.  I hope he's new tonight.  I think I missed last week's episode.  So I can always watch it.

Ciao!

Showering

That was a close call.

It's a good thing Cam left that Hot Wheels car in the shower.  I would have been bored out of my mind if I hadn't had anything to play with while showering.

Thanks Cameron.  I can't believe I've been missing out all this time.  I think I *get* you now.

Gross.

For the love of all that is pure and Holy - - please stop putting the words, "puke and vomit" in your facebook status updates.  It freaks me out.  I am totally paranoid about this.  Especially when the puke germs are less than 40 yards from my house.  And knowing that a kid that has been exposed to it is at my son's school today.

I prefer the whole "ignorance is bliss" on this one.  I don't need to know the details.  How about, "Bleh.  Sick kids.  Sad."  That would make me significantly less paranoid.

Ick.

*sigh*

Funeral this afternoon.  It's going to be tough.  Janna was only 28.  Mr. B works with her father.  She was Justin's very first babysitter.  It is VERY heart breaking.  Parents should not outlive their children.  I'll never understand it.  Thank God for their faith.  I know it is carrying them through this.

Please be in prayer for the Bolings.  I can't imagine doing this.

My. Heart. Breaks.

Changing Blogger Clothes

I've gone simple.  I like the stretched out look and there aren't many templates for it.  At least not any that I like.  Simple it is.

Attention Snooty VanSnoots

They are called parking spots.  You park in them.  You think I want to walk in the rain to go pick my son up?   No.  But I do.  You afraid that little tennis skirt might brush up against one of our peon vehicles?  Afraid you'll melt?  Who gave you a permit to park up so close and in the way?  You do it every day and I'm freakin' sick of it.  I wish the parking/pick up Nazi's that work at Justin's school would come patrol the parking lot at the preschool.  Mrs. VanSnoot would get her butt handed to her.  Fast.  I want to do it so bad.  Instead - - I throw my infamous dirty look that Mom says is going to get my butt kicked some day.  I don't care.  I am convinced I can take her.  I fight dirty.  I'll pull that prissy hair.  And bite.  And claw.

You are not exempt.  Park in between the two white lines.  And Heaven help me on those days that you use two spots.

Gah.

Lots to do today...

I've fallen behind on the housework.  So today is catch up day.  I'll post what all I got done and what music inspired me to stay busy.

Until then...

Socks

Sometimes, I walk outside in my socks.  Because I can.  I can't tell you how many times, growing up, I heard, "Don't go outside in your socks!  You'll ruin them!!!" So sometimes I do it when my parents come over and I giggle the whole time.  I might even come inside, take them off and then throw them away.  I don't know why, but it makes me feel good.

It's the little things in life that make me smile.

Bunco!!!

I am not a regular member of a group.  But I get to sub tonight.

*YAY*

I love playing Bunco.

Bummer

So - - I went to the doctor yesterday.  It looks like that knot on the top of my foot is just a cyst.  (Whew.)  I was nervousing a bit about it.  I was pretty sure that was all it was.  But...

Anyway, it's gotten bad enough that the doc thinks I need it removed.  (It's on the top of my foot and hurts EVERY time I wear shoes.)  I tried to talk him into doing it in his office with just a local.  No dice.  (Bummer.)  So - - day surgery for me.  Gah.  They couldn't do it until March 4th.  I was like, "No way!"  I have a scrapbook retreat that weekend.  You know, priorities and all.  They said they could bump me up to next week but it will have to be in the afternoon instead of first thing in the morning.  I don't care.  It's not like I'm gonna starve or anything.  It won't kill me to wait to eat.  I may not like it, but I doubt I'll die from it.

One week from tomorrow - - the knot will be gone.  *yay*  I've wanted to exercise and work on the "summer me."  But I haven't been able to.  Hopefully I'll be good to go on the exercise thing before too long.  It looks like I have arrangements pegged down for the children.  (Thank you, Miss Q!  The boys are uber excited!)

Today is yucky.  I have a sore throat and just kind of blah.  The house isn't in horrible shape.  So I'm going to hop in the shower, pour a cup of coffee, work on my Bible study and then organize scrapbook stuff for my retreat.  (Let's throw in another *yay* here for that.)  I am feeling quite ambitious about getting stuff done on this trip.  I am going to be prepared.  :D

On a sad note, some friends of ours lost their daughter last night.  She was young.  In her 20's.  Not sure what happened.  Please be in prayer for her family as they grieve her loss.  So young.  So unexpected.  So incredibly sad.

I hope your day is full of blessings.  Mine will be knowing that God is good and He has a plan and a purpose for everything.

Reality Check

Sometimes it's the little reminders to be grateful. I was headed back to work from my lunch break. I sat in the parking lot in my car fo...
